I have a not so secret soft spot for horse stories and this was definitely among the best I've read. I wasn't expecting it to be such a mystery story so that was a pleasant surprise as was the characterisation which was far more developed than I usually find in books of this ilk. I just wish I'd realised this was the middle book in a series because I hadn't read the first book.
