This book seems to be part of a series. I did not read the first book, so it took me a while to understand the context and get to know the characters. It ended on a semi cliffhanger, so if you want to know what happens to all the characters you have to read the next book.

It is a very well written mystery suspense aimed at teenagers. The characters and their actions are very well portrayed. The protagonist, Crissy, was very well written. I could picture a 12 year old girl when I read the book. It is a very tense book with lots of action written from a Christian perspective.

I would recommend this book to all lovers of a mystery suspense, especially the ones who love YA.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

I have a not so secret soft spot for horse stories and this was definitely among the best I've read. I wasn't expecting it to be such a mystery story so that was a pleasant surprise as was the characterisation which was far more developed than I usually find in books of this ilk. I just wish I'd realised this was the middle book in a series because I hadn't read the first book.
