Description

When golden haired Gloria was sold to an old man with no teeth so that her family could eat, she wanted to die. When he sold her as a slave, her life truly began. This is the saga of the multi-cultural, multi-racial family she began, which spans over 250 years and covers the globe. Celebrate the resilience of the human spirit and the American dream. A very enjoyable read! I must admit that when i first started to read 'The Sun Shines Brightest at Midnight', i did wonder where the story was going to take me. Without giving away too much, there are several interesting stories which span 250 years. All comes together in the last few pages of the story. Loved the ending, which i was not expecting.

Due to the individual stories being told, there were many and varied characters. I cannot really say which 'story' i enjoyed most, as all were so different. However, i do enjoy reading about slaves, so the first story where it all started must top the list.

I do recommend this novel. My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers, Black Rose Writing and this is my honest review.

A Spellbinding Read !

Right away I was attracted to the cover art and the synopsis on the book.

The stories are compelling, with a historical edge that spans 250 years. A spelling binding read that keeps you turning the pages until the very end.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC for my Kindle.
I found this book of stories heartwarming and interesting. The only negative thing that I could say about it was that I didn't like the detailed sexual activities in the last story. Too much information! But I did like the surprise ending of the last story.
