When the first book in the series was ready for publication the author had requested a review at the blog. Thanks to my liking for Space Opera I volunteered and thoroughly enjoyed the book. I was pleased to find this second book in the series on Net Galley as I was browsing through. I am even gladder that I picked it up to read and review.

Nick Givliani became a FPA detective after his brother got swallowed up by the bad guys of the universe. He uses his connections to get his brother rescued by the Shays even as he has his suspicions about them. Now it seems that his brother has drunk the Shay Kool Aid and might be lost to him forever. Nick knows something sneaky is going on at the Shay station but despite his best attempts doesn't seem to be able to ferret it out and then there's the resident geek Cassie who appeals to him on so many levels.

I truly enjoyed learning about Cassie's background thanks to Nick's perseverance. While the Red Sun temple and order still seems quite mysterious I like the introduction and deeper look into the order. All this cool information flows and provides a great background to moving the story forward with a touch of excitement as they encounter and deal with Space Pirates and the Shay's enemies.

A great second book in the series probably even better than the first.

This review is based on a requested review copy via NetGalley

This was the first book I have read from this author and it was a very enjoyable experience. The characters and settings are all well described giving a vivid picture of the scenes. The story kept me invested throughout and I would certainly recommend to anyone who is interested in Sci-Fi romance, as both are strongly evident.

I would advise reading the first book in the series (Last Chance) as it seems there is an in depth story at work, as you may expect from a planned trilogy. I have not read the first and feel it does somewhat detract from what the author intended.

I will be looking forward to the last in the trilogy, hopefully it is not far from publication.

This one is a pretty standard SciFi romance a good enough read if you are looking for a new book.  While this is the 2nd in the series I had no read the 1st, but without having read the it I was easily able to follow this one.  I would recommend going back to the first since much of the overall world building is based on the assumption you have information about it.  This is definitely not the final book so only a partial ending that sets up the 3rd.

In a future where two huge conglomerates fight for supremacy in space, a law enforcement official investigates one of them, because his brother works for them. Instead of doing his job he falls hard for the local AI genius caught between the two companies.
This is the second in a series, and I wish I’d read the first, because that one had the Del/Sun story, and he doesn’t get much here. Some of the world building might have been in that one too, and therefore missing here. On the other hand, the best parts are the descriptions of the company headquarters and other places—the party near the end comes to mind—as well as the accounts of the ships moving through space in their unique way.
The strangest thing is that this book is billed as an erotica, but nothing such happens until near the end.

I voluntarily read this advanced readers copy of this book. Strong characters and a great story line. I so love dragon shifter books. I so have to go back and read book one of this series and I can't wait to read the next installment either. You will love reading about Cassie and Nick.

This was an excellent story! Space, lightning fast ships, artificial intelligence, and a megalomaniac bent on world domination, what could go wrong?!? Answer, a LOT!! This is a fast paced read with something always happening, keeps you reading just to find out what happens next! Loved the story and can't wait to check out this authors other works! Thank you for the opportunity to review this work.

This wasn’t a bad book. The characters where well written and the plot wasn’t bad. My only real gripe is that I felt I had to read the first book to thoroughly get the whole overall story, especially since this one ended leading into the next book.
