These Little Piggies Go To the Beach is a fun take on the traditional and classic rhyme. It has a nice rhyming cadence to it that young children would enjoy. I loved the fun illustrations. They were colourful, vibrant and full of activity. The story was a family of mother, dad and three little piggies. A cute gift for a pre-school child. A great addition to a family library or a pre-school or kindergarten classroom.
This book is a fun take on the traditional and classic rhyme.
It has some really lovely images and is very easy to follow.
4 stars from me - a quick, fun and easy read that will be loved by little ones!
I love how the author took the standard nursery rhyme and made it a complete story. This little piggy when to the beach, this little piggy brought food, etc. It works wonderfully, and the illustrations make it pop.
I love this book. The illustrations are delightful and kids will love them. They are packed full of action and emotions and they take the reader right into the beach scene along with five adorable piggy characters. No wonder she is a New York Times bestselling illustrator and if you partner her with a bestselling author you are sure to have a winner.
Written in rhyme and using the rhythm of "This little piggy went to market...", this energetic fun book invites you to come along and spend a day at the beach just hanging out and enjoying all the things you can do there. You watch the piggies load up their car, happily arrive at their destination, build creative sand castles in the sand, cool off in the water and play with a colourful beachball. They are experiencing a total day of freedom. So much fun!
My favourite piggy of all? You guessed it... the one ever with her nose in a book. It made me laugh to see how much she loved to read and for her reading and beach fun was a pefect combo. Awesome piggie!
"These Little Piggies Go To The Beach" is a perfect segue into a day you might mirror with your own family at the waterfront, whether it is longing for a dip in the water to cool off from the hot summer sun or used as an escape from the cold wintry weather just to get a break and seek out the sun. The message you come away with is that beach life rocks and a day apart to enjoy all it has to offer is a perfect day indeed. I highly recommend this book.

This is a take on the traditional rhyme (This little piggy went to market . . . .). It is told in a rhyming cadence that little ones will no doubt love. There are lots of fun, colorful illustrations.
Cons: None
Pros: A book that preschoolers will soon be reading along with you. The illustrations have plenty of details about the visit to the beach that kids will want to stop and look at them.
This is a charming story and a variation of the five little piggies nursery rhyme. Here the piggy parents and their three children head out to the beach in the family convertible. The illustrations are a delight--full of small details and colors that are sure to appeal to toddlers, preschool age children and early readers. The rhyme scheme helps make the text appealing to younger children and the predictable nature of it will help early readers anticipate words and gain confidence through reading. This is great title to add to the home collection or library.
