Description

The latest from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Angie Fox...

Ghost hunter Verity Long is overdue for a little R&R (rest and romance) with her boyfriend, Ellis, and a vintage train trip through the Tennessee mountains seems like just the ticket. The Sugarland Express carries history and nostalgia in every compartment, and Verity is determined to enjoy it—without ghostly interference. But the ghosts have other plans…

On a dark, desolate night nearly a century ago, the train was stranded in the mountains, and a young woman was found stabbed to death in her locked compartment. The murder was never solved, and a ghostly Belgian detective is still pursuing the case from the grave.

To Verity’s dismay, all of the ghostly suspects are back. And when history repeats itself and a new murder mirrors the old, it’s up to Verity and her friends to discover which of the passengers—dead or alive—could be behind the murders before the killer strikes again.

The Southern Spirits Ghost Hunter Series is one of my favorite series of all time and Murder of the Sugarland Express was another hit.

Verity, Ellis, Lucy (the skunk), Frankie & many other favorite characters are back for another great story. And we get to know Verity's almost (maybe soon to be again) mother-in-law & her ex better

This book takes Verity & Ellis on a weekend getaway & the fun starts before they even leave Sugarland!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Loved! This is another winner in the Southern Spirits Ghost Hunter Series. In this novel, Ellis whisks Verity away for a quiet and historical trip on the Sugarland Express's maiden voyage after being rebuilt. The original Sugarland Express was destroyed many years ago on it's maiden voyage. However, Frankie, Verity's resident ghost won't allow her to leave him behind, so before even boarding the train, Verity is being warned of disaster by the ghost conductor. What follows is a fun murder mystery/who done it that fans of the genre will love.

I love Verity and her story....despite how offbeat it is the author made me feel connected to her character and rooting for her. She has had many setbacks in her life - most revolving around the Wydell family - and I enjoyed reading about how those relationships have progressed.

While this is a stand alone novel, you really owe it to yourself to read them all.

Murder on the Sugarland Express (Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries, #6) is now my favorite story in the series.

It was nice to see Verity finally receive the apology she deserved from Book 1. Too bad it was in private and not in public as the humiliation was.

Ellis and Verity make such a great team, I hope that they have many more adventures in the future.

Once again, Lucy made me smile. We need more scenes with this lovable character. Maybe she'll find love in the next book, especially since a new skunk may be moving to Sugarland in the future.

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

Great writing style!
Love how the author wraps up the introduction to the story in a fun fast way. This is the sixth installment of this series and you can catch up and get to know the characters without missing anything.
The story is complex and well developed. We get two mysteries to solve and enjoy a funny ride with Verity Long, Frankie the German and the whole Wydell family.
Filled with Southern charm, this is a must read paranormal-cozy-mystery.

Seriously love both Angie Fox and her character Verity. Well written, developed and enjoyable story that puts a twist on the typical romantic getaway trip - by Train with a 1920s mystery! Frankie and his antics always keep you laughing along the way which keeps me coming back for more. A read and series I'd recommend to anyone.
