Description

Half-vampire Amelia Hartnady, Liberty’s vampire hunter, is on a mission to kill vamp leader Fedor, aka the vamp that wrecked her life. But after her last disastrous hunt, the council hired Delaney Delacouer, Europe’s legendary hunter, and that tall, green-eyed sweet-talker’s got the town mesmerized.
Amelia knows all too well how deadly Fedor can be—he’s the reason she’s a half-vamp, one who could be the legendary daywalker, in a backwoods town that doesn’t much like supernaturals, even ones who fight against vamps. And anyway, what’s a man like Delacouer doing in a small town like Liberty? He’s definitely not all he claims to be. As far as Amelia’s concerned, the town’s only big enough for one hunter, and that’s her.
Forced to hunt together, Amelia and Delacouer fight their deadly attraction. She’s seeking redemption, he’s chasing revenge. But only one of them can claim the vamp leader as theirs. Now the pair have to work together to overcome their own demons.

The Hunt delivered a great, short read in between finishing up my Christmas wrapping. I loved having something quick to read and this paranormal romance was just what I needed. It definitely left me wanting more from Suzanne Jefferies.

I feel torn on my review, I do think that there is a market for this, but there were some holes for me which caused this to be a miss for me. I had a hard time connecting to this story and think it just might be me.

I have mixed feelings on this book. I liked the premise but the characters were hard for me to connect to. I thought the plot was intriguing and I liked the thought of the legend of the day walker, but I felt that aspects were not explained well, such as being half vamp and how Fedor found her in the first place.

Also Delaney seemed to have a major personality switch from the first part of the book to after the initial encounter with the vamps.

Unfortunately this was a miss for me, but it could be that just not meant for me. I do think people will enjoy it but the characters just weren't to my taste.

I voluntarily read an advanced reviewers copy of this book

This book was interesting because it was a nice mix of the paranormal worlds. I really liked Amelia because she refused to give up on what she wanted no matter how far fetched it was. While her life is at risk we all can't help but notice that Delacouer has his own secrets to hide that do nothing but ruin all of Amelia's plans.

Overall this book was good, it is fiction... but some parts while far fetched... helped to seal the deal in a very good HEA.

This felt very short to me, but was actually perfectly paced for a short story. The characters were depicted perfectly with enough detail but not detracting from the story. The relationship between delacoeur and Amelia progressed well and was complex and steamy. The story line kept you wondering, enough to keep reading. Great for fans of the supernatural and the shorter reads.

I really wanted to like this one when I read the blurb I thought this was one for me.I don't know if it was just me but I really struggled to get into this one usually I am sucked into a book and can't put it down that was not the case with this one.I did like it enough to keep going back to it but it took me days to read, I think it was just a little out there for me at times

Half vampire hunts full vampires for an ungrateful town. When one mission fails the town hires another vampire hunter, leaving her to rage, and of course fall in lust for the new guy, who’s as arrogant as. . . every other male lead character in this kind of romance/erotica.
Like a lot of books in this genre, the author takes every opportunity—at least once a page—to turn an innocent phrase into sexual innuendo about how much her body wants him even though she can’t stand him. A few funny ones are good, but there’s just too much of this. At times it feels like padding, and it’s a short book as it is.
Everyone in this story is an ass, except for the female lead. Even the goddess is unworthy.
Here’s the good things. In addition to some snarky humor, the ending is incredibly original, at least something I’ve never come across. While I enjoyed this story for the most part, despite it being by-the-numbers, the ending kicked it up a notch.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5
