This was a charming little novella, start of a series, with several sisters in need of husbands. The H makes a deal with the h, that she marry him if he finds husbands for all her sisters, he proceeds to do so, with the first match herein. She resists and distrusts his motivation. He is actually quite drawn to her. A bit of a cat and mouse, or cat and act.

I promised a fair and honest review in return for this ARC and here it is. TOO SHORT!! I want more! I cannot wait for the rest of this sister story! Really, really good read.

This is a short novella, that took me by surprise. The story started out focused on Chastity Hamilton, one of four daughters of the Duke of Roxburgh and his heir. She is the oldest at five and twenty and her father is determined to have her marry. Chastity has been focused on helping raise her younger sisters since her mother passed away and does not want to leave them. As her father determines he will make the decision for her of husband if she does not choose, he brings home Sir Stirling James as her husband to be. Chastity insists she will not marry until all her sisters are married first. Can you imagine demanding that of a suitor? Well you will be in for a surprise as this story takes a turn and focuses on one of the sisters. I truly loved this book but when it ended I could have cried. What about the other sisters and Chastity? Well lucky for me, there is an entire series that is already published and I can start on the next one now!!!! Thank you Tarah, Sue-Ellen and Allie! This will definately grab your attention!!!

❤️❤️❤️
💋
I’ll start by saying the idea for this book was great ,
Four sisters , the eldest carrying a title , need to be wed .
The father betroths the eldest to a gent and tasks him with finding husbands for the other 3 , before he can marry .
I enjoyed the story , but felt I didn’t get enough depth to the characters. Maybe it only being a novella is the reason for this , however some of the storyline needed more description I felt .
Given that , It flows well ,and I’m sure there will be more in the series with the other sisters involved , hopefully that will add what I felt was missing.

“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

My Thoughts:

I truly like Tara Scott's style of writing, but the abruptness of the end of Chastity's part of this series disappointed me.
I thought we would be allowed a glimpse into the next sister's story but it didn't happen.
I gave this story 4.25 of 5.0 stars for storyline and character development and a sensual rating of 3.0 of 5.0 flames. There is only a couple of dances between our couple before their wedding night and an abrupt ending when they return to retrieve Chastity's belongings, therefore we have to wait for the next part to discover more of what happens.
I received a complimentary digital copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley to read and review. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Worth of a Lady by Tarah Scott, Sue-Ellen Welfonder is the First book in "The Marriage Maker" series. This is the introduction story into 'The Marriage Maker' series and centers around Chastity Hamilton and Stirling James. Stirling is her father's choice for a husband but Chastity isn't so sure, and sets down a stipulation that her sisters must find husband too.
This was a easy, fast novella that has me looking forward to this new series.

A good start to the series, first book, laid the groundwork for the stories of the sisters. Only thing that bothered me is the way the two men kept talking or thinking of their previous encounters with women. I suppose it's difficult to understand how different things were in those days for lack of equal rights of men and women particularly concerning morals.
They seemed dead against marriage and then quickly changed their minds, bit too quickly for me but then it is not a long story.

This was a short novella that I read in a sitting, I thoroughly enjoyed it & immediately searched for the next novellas as I needed to find out what happened to the other two sisters & of course Chastity. The characters were charming but hard to have any depth of character in such a short story but hopefully Stirling & Chastity will develop throughout the series. I just wish it had been one full length novel that told all the sisters stories

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

This is the introduction story into 'The Marriage Maker' series and centers around Chastity Hamilton and Stirling James. This is a short novella in which Spinster Chastity Hamilton is her father’s heir the Duke of Roxburgh’s. He has insists who she must marry, but Chastity has an ultimatum of her own, to see her sisters married before she does. She’s quite shocked when Sir Stirling James takes up the challenge and announces her youngest sister is engaged to Quin Ramsey the Devil of Delny a confirmed rake and bachelor. Now read how her youngest sister Lucy and Quin react to the news and find their HEA! A great beginning to the new series 'The Marriage Maker".
This is my honest opinions after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.

I enjoyed the story but it does include but one daughter. The characters seem like they are having fun and Sir Sterling definitely seems to be having a good time. Chasity is not a happy person..There is a wager that one man must find grooms for three of the daughters and he gets Chasity. The catch is he only has a month. As usual these two wonderful authors, have written, at least one fourth of an excellent book.. I can't wait to read the other three tales.

Worth of a Lady and the new Marriage Maker series, as well as, Tarah Scott and Sue-Ellen Welfonder are new to me. It is sad that I have not discovered them before now! I loved this novella and cannot wait for the rest of the series. In addition, I plan to find their previous books to read and enjoy. Their joined writing is witty and sharp, as I am sure they are separately, too. The idea of a female inheriting a duchy is uncommon. The thought that the eldest sister Chastity refuses to marry leads to a declaration by her father, the Duke of Roxburgh, that all of his daughters will marry and marry quickly. He did not sire a son, thus his eldest daughter will inherit the family title. Through her, he will, eventually, have a male heir.

Chastity and the duke bargain on her sisters marrying first. Sir Stirling James enters as her future betrothed if he can find good husbands for each of her sisters. It is a challenge he accepts. You will see as you read, Stirling and Quin Ramsey, his ‘surrogate’ brother, are both rogues of the first order. But, who makes great husband material – former rogues who are in love and reformed.

The endearing Quin wins over Lucy and proves himself to her quickly. It is going to be Stirling and Chastity that we will get to watch as the series progresses. We know already that each of Chastity’s sisters will marry the ‘perfect’ men Stirling selects. It will be the who and how that will make for great reading if this beginning novella is any example.

I was given an ARC for an honest review by Net Galley
I had not read any of this authors work before and was pleasantly surprised as I enjoyed this short read. I will look out for more books by this author as I will be interested to see if they are as good as this novella. I thought the two main characters were well described and I was glad to see that they had their happy ever after.

Chastity’s annoyance with her father, a Duke who wants all his daughters married and well taken care of and soon as possible reciprocates his annoyance with Chastity, the eldest daughter. With frustration belying his words; the Duke gave a 2 month time frame and got a bargain out of the deal, it seems.

The Duke finds Quin who will wed Chastity and assist in the coupling of the other sisters to a gentleman he chooses and he gives his word he will find their match and they will be both be glad with it, the suitor and the sister.

Who will be the most unraveled and resistant to letting this happen?

As I read this story, I can’t wait to find out about the next coupling. Lucy likes her match more than she can imagine and Chastity can’t understand how Quin is able to find just the perfect one. We shall see what comes of the next coupling!

Spinster Chastity Hamilton is the Duke of Roxburgh’s heir. She does not wish to marry, but her father's threat sticks. Chastity devises a plan and announces it to her father thinking to outsmart him. She will marry when and if her husband-to-be can make a match for her three younger sisters first. All four sisters are shocked and amazed when a Sir Stirling James readily accepts said challenge in order to win Chastity's hand for himself.

First to marry will be the youngest Hamilton daughter, Lucy. Sir Stirling has already chosen just the man for Lucy, his brother, Quin Ramsey. Quin has the nickname Devil of Delny for a reason, and isn't anywhere near ready to settle down, or so he thinks.

Lucy however would be delighted to be married. Quin is a very attractive candidate, despite his reputation. Could he ever settle down and commit himself to someone like her? Find out in WORTH OF A LADY.

WORTH OF A LADY is a wonderfully fun novella. It is the first in a series titled MARRIAGE MAKER, which shows much promise. I thoroughly enjoyed Lucy's story and am very impatient to see the next Hamilton sibling married off. I would give WORTH OF A LADY a 3.5 out of 5!

This is the first book in the series and I loved it! It's a quick read but it's amazing how it tells more of a story than is actually there. The Duke wants his daughters married off and quickly. The eldest sister makes a deal with him to marrry her younger sisters off before she will marry. She thinks she's got the best end of the deal until her intended enters the equation. The young in this story. I like the concept of this book. I read it in one sitting and was ready to read the next one. Looking forward to more soon!

An intriguing story that grabbed my interest very early. It was told very well. However, I thought the storyline was to be about the oldest sister and was very much surprised when the story finished after the youngest sister married. I can only presume that the story is to continue through all four sister's marriages. I would have liked for the entire tale to have been in one volume.

With the above being said I have rated this book 4 stars.

I obtained this ARC from Netgalley for my unbiased opinion.

I really liked "Worth of a Lady". It was a good blend of romance and historical elements.

The Duke of Roxburgh has had enough, he has no male heir and his daughter Chastity will inherit, but he wants her to marry and have an heir before he dies, to date, she has managed to evade marriage for herself and her three sisters. So the duke threatens to marry her off to an old man if she doesn't marry within two months. Chastity is angry, but knows her father is not bluffing, so she makes a deal, if her father can find a man who can find matches for her three sisters within a month, she will marry him.

Enter Sir James Stirling, he will find husbands for the sisters and then marry Lady Chastity, the reader is not privy to how the duke and Stirling meet, but Stirling is serious about marrying Chastity. He visits his friend and surrogate brother Quinn Ramsey, Baron Denly aka the Devil of Denly and reminds him of his promise to his dying father to marry. Quinn is a rake and happy to remain so, he tells Stirling he will marry when Stirling does. Stirling then announces that he will be marrying in five weeks and tells Quinn to prepare to meet his bride.

Lucy is the youngest daughter of the duke and the prettiest, she wants to marry, but is not sure that her father's plan will work. She meets Quinn and is not overly impressed, but he is attractive and seems nice, until she learns he didn't know about the plan with the duke and Stirling, she tells him and he laughs, he doesn't plan to marry any time soon. But when he sees Lucy dancing with other men, he admits to being jealous and when another man claims her for a waltz, he annouces to all that they are betrothed.

They marry days later and seem to be a perfect match. Chastity isn't willing to conceed defeat to Stirling and tells him that Lucy was the easiest to marry off, he baits her and she calls him a rogue, he says that just makes him interesting and that she will have the rest of her life to find out how interesting.

This was a very short story, but is was surprisingly good and fleshed out. I am now eager to find out who Stirling will pair the other sisters with and how he will win over Chastity.

Worth of a Lady is a the first in a series of novellas about the Hamilton girls by Tarah Scott. The novella was cute and sweet. Chastity’s father insists that it is time for her to marry – she has refused for years – and he is now threatening her with a forced marriage to an older man if she doesn’t find a man she will marry in two months’ time.
Chastity agrees to marry, only if the man can find her sisters’ husbands before the two months are up. Enter Sir Stirling James. In order to marry Chastity, he agrees to her scheme. He plans to marry off the youngest sister, Lucy, first to Quin Ramsey the Devil of Delny.
Quin is young, with a rakish reputation, and no desire to marry – even if his surrogate brother Stirling asks him to marry a young woman. But when he meets Lucy, he is charmed more than he expected. Lucy, and Chastity for that matter, aren’t happy with Stirling’s choice, Quin is a rake and not the proper young man for Lucy. Somehow, Quin and Lucy fall for each other in only a few days’ time and their romance is lovely.
This novella is their story and the beginning of Chastity’s story as well. I can’t wait to read the next books in the series to find out how Stirling will win Chastity’s hand.
