A Love We Deserve is the second in the True Love series. I had problems with it, just as I had problems with the first one, Mine, Not Hers. For about the first 3/4 of the book, Melanie was an unlikable heroine. She was downright rude and mean, such a change from the way she was in Mine, Not Hers. I would score the first 3/4 2 stars because she was so unlikable. But, lo and behold, once she and Brian actually got together permanently, she became a much more likable person and I was able to really enjoy the last 1/4 of the story. If it weren't for Brian, who I swear, is the sweetest, most adorable hero I've read in forever, I probably would have still 2 starred this because Melanie's unlikability was so bad, even though she redeemed herself toward the end.

Melanie is an unhappily divorced mother of three. She doesn't have much in her life aside from her three preteen boys, so she sets out to get herself together by joining a gym. It's where she'll meet who she thinks is her next love, Caleb, but it turns out she wasn't really ready for a relationship or love, so they don't work out. When she, thanks to Katie, from Mine, Not Hers, starts a job working for a women's shelter, it's where she'll meet the real love of her life - Brian, a football player for the Chicago Bears. But, she's still reeling from her divorce and the end of her relationship with Caleb, so she rejects him out of hand, even though he immediately gave off the sweetest vibes. Honestly, I wanted to smack her more than once, OK, MANY times, for the way she treated Brian throughout their story. Thank God Brian has the patience of a saint, and the persistence of a hound, though, and she finally allows him into her heart and her life. From there, the story took a turn for the good, and I was finally able to connect with her and remember how sweet she was in Mine, Not Hers.

I'm not too sure about the heroines in this True Love world, but I adore both Brian and Jason, so I'm intrigued enough to want to read the next story, A Model Romance, which features Melanie's sister, Rebecca. Here's hoping Rebecca is more interesting and likable than her sister was in A Love We Deserve, and that the hero is just as adorable as Brian and Jason.

This is my second book by this author... I think because I didn't enjoy the first book in this series, I was unable to get into this book. I quit after the second chapter.

Thanks for Netgalley and respective publisher for sending me this copy.

It's natural kind of story like ordinary one.
One has been seeking for true love, but hard to be found.
Same Battle but different character likewise differ in characteristics.
Though it has some magnetic coupling and minx made the leading character entangled with special someone.
I had expected more, But I've comprised.
Happy ending,

This is the second book in the series and I enjoyed Jason and Katie's so much I could not wait to read Melanie's book and I have to say it was a good read but I really did not like Melanie not one but she was a horrible character rude and mean nearly all the time except when she was with Brian then it was almost like she was a completely different person. I did really like him though. If like me you enjoyed the fist you will want to give this one a go
