Romans (Everyday Bible Commentary series)

So here is the deal, i have always struggled with Romans and because of that, I have kept myself at arm's length around studying it. Within the last two years though, something has sparked a fire within me around Romans. I am really into Romans and investing a lot of time into it and this resource helped tremendously. I love when an author is passionate about what he or she is writing about, because passion is contagious and I found myself really getting into this book because of Alan's knowledge, passion, and desire to teach truth. I actually loved how he handled Romans 1-11, which can be some pretty weighty stuff and yet he did a great job of communicating it with ease so that we could embrace it and understand it. I am thankful for individuals like Alan to research big time to help people like us better understand God's Word.

The author does a good job expounding the text and contextualizing the situation. Highly recommended.

Romans Is a great book and knowledge about Romans. It starts off talking about Paul then it is a little bit geared toward those you have familiarity with the Scriptures - but that is just my opinion - it does tells us what the book of Romans is about - what its importance is - the greeting - the theme - and so on - very interesting - all that you could want to know about Romans.

The book of Romans may be described as a treatise on the gospel as well as the Christian faith. Therefore, it joins other Biblical books in the category of a very deep and rich book of the Bible. Thus saying, there are things presented in Romans that would even lead to controversies as well as challenging discussions.

This commentary is presented in a way that will assist the layperson in the journey toward gaining a better understanding of Romans. The author lays everything out in narrative form using real-life examples while also providing background information which helps the reader form thoughts and ideas to assist in the challenging talks that will come out out of the studies in and discussions about this book.

I'm a lover of good commentaries and any resource that allows me to get grasp a better understanding of the scriptures. Now, I strongly believe that scripture proves itself through other scriptures, however, I feel its always useful to do more "research" by looking at biblical resources.

For me, Romans is a book that I studied through once I didn't really get much out of it. However, this second time around I am studying it with my Pastors and using this commentary to help and I am getting so much out of the book of Romans. This commentary is very easy to read and navigate. Though Romans has 16 chapters this commentary breaks it up into 10 parts focusing on sections of scripture within each part.

Each verse in unpacked in a way that allows you to grasp the basis of Romans. It helps you to apply the scripture to your life and to be able to share the book of Romans with others in conversation. This commentary uses various translations for a deeper understanding, such as KJV, NLT, AMP, NASB and many others.
