Description

Scarlett never expected to lose a baby at twenty-two. And she certainly never expected the marriage to her high school sweetheart to fall apart before they’d even made it to their fifth anniversary. But one cold, gray December morning, that’s exactly where she finds herself—childless and desperate to escape Aiden’s suffocating affection.
Aiden wants to take away his wife’s pain. Something inside her broke the moment their unborn baby died, but instead of letting him help, she's pushing him away.
Is time all Scarlett needs to heal her broken heart, restore her faith in God, and reunite with Aiden, or will the excruciating sting of loss leave her cold and forever alone?

Scarlett never expected to lose a baby at twenty-two. And she certainly never expected the marriage to her high school sweetheart to fall apart before they’d even made it to their fifth anniversary...

For Better or Worse is about a young couple who goes through an unfortunate miscarriage.
Scarlett, who does not take this well retreats to her best friends house, leaving her husband.

This book will hit close to home for anyone that has suffered a loss such as this.

This was a nice little read about a vow that most people say but never really put into practice....Loving someone in sickness.

Scarlett just lost a baby....and part of herself. She's not sure if she'll ever feel okay again. She's isolated everyone, her parents, her friends, her husband. What does she have left for anyone.

Aiden isn't about to let Scarlett go without a fight. She's hurt and left him but he's determined to keep his vow to God...And Scarlett.

This book is a short read and clean with a powerful message. I recommend this for ages 13 and up for mature (none graphic or sexual) content.

For Better or Worse was a quick read, however I did feel like the heroine was being ridiculous and her husband was trying so hard I didn't really connect with her.

Scarlett and Aidan had been expecting a baby girl but at twelve weeks Scarlett miscarried the baby. Scarlett could not imagine a life without her baby. Then she blames herself and overwhelmed with guilt. Aidan tried to help her but Scarlett just wanted to be left alone. After months of pain scarlett acted like she was getting on with her life. She enrolled to finish her last semester of college to become a teacher. Aidan got a promotion and became Project manager at his construction line. Scarlett and Aidan began to save to buy a house. On the outside they ;looked like the perfect couple with the perfect life. But on the inside at least for Scarlett…. Scarletts affection only went skin deep. Aidan showered her with love but it didn’t touch the dark hole where her heart had been since losing the baby. Scarlett played her roles well: loving wife, devoted college student, humble Sunday teacher. Scarlett refused to show even a sign of weakness. She resented that Aidan had moved past the loss of their baby so easily. Then Scarlett decided to leave Aidan telling they were in different places. Scarlett felt like she was trapped: by school, by friends she no longer connected with, even the man she thought would always be her rock, that she would spend her life with. Aidan told Scarlett he loved her, couldn’t lose her and he wouldn’t let them fall apart but Scarlett said it was too late and left. Scarlett wasn’t even sure where she was going she couldn’t go to her parents they would want to know why she had left Aidan. Then Scarlett thought of Mandy who had been her best friend since they were toddlers. But they haven't even seen each other in a year. Scarlett had a different life now and Mandy had still been single and living it up. But deep down Scarlett felt Mandy would still be there for herand wsas. Mandy instantly told Scarlett to come to her house.
I enjoyed this novella. It was an easy quick but moving read. This was based on faith and i enjoyed that. I wish had been a little longer but nothing had been lacking in this book and I loved the ending. It did feel a little rushed but not real bad. But I did love the plot. The way the author wrote of a n miscarriage and the after effects was very well written as far as I am concerned.this was a one setting read I didn’t want to put it down. I loved how Aidan never lost faith or his love for Scarlett. I also loved how Mandy was there for Scarlett. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and i recommend. I wish I could rate this 4.5.

I thought this book was a good read. I connected so much with this book as I too have suffered miscarriages and felt alone. This book engages the reader and all the characters were likable. Recommend this book to all.
