A sweet and heartwarming story that managed to bring out a few tears. Nicely rounded characters and a couple of minor twists that were well executed. Romance convincing.

This is the perfect holiday book! I read it in July but was transported immediately to cooler times and fell in love. Perfect characters to spend a weekend reading with!

Suzanne 's three grown daughters are coming home for Christmas, but when they arrive, things are not as great as she'd hoped. Each daughter is dealing with their own personal problems, so a relaxed and happy holiday may not happen. I really liked this book. It had multiple story lines going, and I liked how all the sisters came together. My first book by this author, and I will be reading more. If you like Susan Mallery, this is a book for you!

Delightful Christmas story. Family can be so challenging and yet there is love as the root of it all. The three sisters couldn't be more different but the bonds are strong. I loved this book 💗

In Sarah Morgan’s newest work, we’re introduced to three sisters who each deal with a past tragedy in different ways.

Twenty-five years ago, Hannah, Bethany, and Posey lost their parents in a horrible ice climbing accident right before Christmas. Their mom’s best friend Suzanne, adopts the girls and together with her fiancé, brings them to Scotland and his home-town to live.

Every Christmas the family gathers in Scotland to celebrate and even though Suzanne does her best to make the holiday as perfect as she can, old memories, fears, and anxieties usually rear up.

Hannah, the oldest, is career-driven, relationship-avoiding, and never talks about the incident that changed their lives. She shuns Christmas like vampires shun the sun and didn’t even come home last year. This year, though, is different. She may be pregnant, something that absolutely terrifies her and when the man she’s been seeing tells her he loves her, she panics and flies to Scotland early, stunning her family.

Bethany is the perfect mom. With an adoring husband who works more than he’s home and two daughters who suck the life out of her, Beth craves for something more. When she’s offered the opportunity to work for the women she did before she had kids, she leaps at it, thrilled. Jason, her husband, isn’t so thrilled. They have a huge fight and Beth leaves him to fly home – early, like Hannah – to Scotland.

Posey, the youngest, has memories of only Suzanne and Stewart, not her real parents. Unlike her sisters, she has no memory of the time before they came to Scotland and only remembers being loved, secured and protected. Scotland is the only home she’s ever known, but she aches to travels, see the work, and climb mountains, just like her parents did. How can she tell the only parents she’s ever known that she wants to leave and embark on the same kinds of adventures that killed her biological parents?

The character of Suzanne was my absolute favorite in this book. Just in her 20’s when her best friend is killed, she takes on the responsibility of 3 little, broken girls, not knowing how to be a mom, and only ever having been responsible for herself. In her, I see the true character of what I think every mother should be: selfless and filled with unconditional love.

THE CHRISTMAS SISTERS is a bit of a departure from Morgan’s usual light romantic fare, but it is a welcome detour. And don’t worry: there’s enough romance in this book to satisfy her legion of fans.

This was a wonderful story of family, forgiveness, unconditional love, and most of all the true bond of family and sisters.

Thanks you to Netgalley , and Harlequin romance for allowing me an early reader ARC for this wonderful book. 5 well deserved stars!

The magic of Christmas and the enduring bond of family will bring three sisters home to heal, to remember, to bond and to look forward to the future. From the workaholic Hannah, to the stay-at home-mom, Beth to Posy, the one who stayed home to help out their adoptive parents, three sisters will come together in the snowy Highlands of Scotland, open their hearts and embrace the love and support they have always needed.

An emotionally taut tale of crisis, confusion, secrets and avoidance, THE CHRISTMAS SISTERS by Sarah Morgan is a heart-warming tale of coming to understand family, as a group and as individuals, to trust in their support and to accept oneself and the love of others.

A wonderful Holiday read to be savored as these characters become so very real, so fragile and not unlike people we may know. We can’t pick our family, but we can treasure each person for who they are and the unconditional love they give.

I enjoyed this book very much. It revolves around three sisters. They usually only get together once a year for the holidays. Because of a tragedy when they were children there are issues. They find it very hard to confide in and be there for each other. But this Christmas could be different and bring the three closer than they ever have been. A great holiday read.

The Christmas Sisters is a fabulous read. I loved the McBride Sisters, Hannah, Posy and Beth. And, of course, their adoptive parents, Suzanne and Steward. My favorite character would have to be Beth. As a stay at home mom, I definitely understood what she was going through. I honestly was not too cray about Hannah at first but the more I got to know her, the more she grew on me. I loved Posy and her side kick, Bonnie. So sweet. Suzanne and Stewart are two of the most admirable characters. Their bond, strength and courage is inspiring.
The Christmas Sisters is such a heartwarming story. One that involves the wonderful Christmas season that brings families together. Like all families, the McBrides are not perfect with their share of their own problems. But they all still love one another. It, also, of the Scottish Highlands. What more could this reader want?
The Christmas Sisters gets a well deserved five plus stars from me. I am adding other books by Sarah Morgan on my wish list.
Great read!
I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

I own all of Sarah's books and she never disappoints. What a wonderful Christmas story!!

Hannah, Bethany and Posey have all lost their parents, at a young age, and Suzanne and Stewart decide to adopt the girls, with no hesitation.

Suzanne always wants to have the "perfect Christmas" for her daughter's. This Christmas is not going to go as planned.

All three sister's deal with the tragedy in their own ways and each have very individual lives. Posey continues to live in Scotland with her parents. She has a mind to begin travelling but is the one who is always there. Hannah, she never wants to talk about the past and is a career driven woman. She finds that she can't always plan everything in her life though and winds up returning to Scotland for Christmas earlier than expected. Bethany, the perfect wife and mother. She needs more to her life than these two things and wants to begin working again. It just happens to be that she would be working with a previous employer and things weren't so great at that time either. She becomes fed-up with her husband Jason and also returns to Scotland earlier than planned, without her family.

Suzanne just wants a perfect Christmas because it's the time of the year that truly needs to be special for her family, due to the tragedy that had happened many years ago. She loves her children and wants nothing but happiness for them. She is truly an amazing character.

This story does have it's serious side due to the tragedy that had happened but their is love, laughter and romance all wrapped up also. I laughed so hard when one male character had to describe how his life had been without his wife (I don't want to give it away). I'm pretty sure that my family thought I was losing my mind a bit, but it was so well written and hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing.

I enjoyed this story of the women who are learning that not everything can be planned out in life, that their is room for forgiveness and always room for pure and unconditional love.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for this ARC and all opinions are of my own. I always look forward to Sarah's books!!

Morgan yet again tugs at the heartstrings with The Christmas Sisters. This is a story fraught with guilt and lingering trauma from an accident 25 years ago which caused three sisters to be taken in by a family friend. Three sisters with disparate personalities try to face adulthood with strings from their past. Christmas in the small town in Scotland is the one event that brings them together, be grudgingly not to upset the apple cart. Well, all bets are off and most of the characters are in crisis this year. The stay-at-home mom who feels unappreciated and wants to go back to work, the career-driven sister who finds herself pregnant and does not know what to do, and the youngest, who feels like she cannot leave her adopted parents and has extreme wanderlust. This was an extremely satisfying read if you stick with the book beyond the first few chapters.

Sarah Morgan keeps getting better and better! A heartwarming story of three sisters set at Christmas.

The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Morgan Book Review
Scotland at Christmas time, 3 sisters brought together & each one in a crisis. Throw in a cafe that hosts a knitting night & baked goods to die for. Oh, I'm not finished yet! There's also, a sleigh ride with a pony, mountain climbers, secrets, career changes & adventure. In my best Britney Spears vice, Gimme Gimme More.

A Scottish Family Christmas
First thing, I'm in love with the McBride family. Like, serious love here folks. I hope there's room at their Scotland home because I am moving in. I will help Posy water the Christmas tree named Eric, help Suzanne cover shifts in the cafe & I'll make sure Stewart has plenty of single malt scotch on hand at all times!

It's The Most Stressful Time of the Year
We know all families have their issues, right? Well, the McBride family survived a horrific event. Just because they survived it, doesn't mean they are not affected by the fallout. Every Christmas, feelings, hurt, anguish & despair come rolling in waves. Each member of the McBride family deals with his or her grief in a different way. But, when you stick them all in a snowed-in house during the most festive (and the most stressful) time of year, feelings float to the surface.

Sisterly Love
I do not have sisters, so I am forever in search of sisterhood type of stories. I love the dynamic between Posy, Hannah & Beth. When I read the synopsis for The Christmas Sisters, I knew the sisters were adopted. What I didn't realize is they all share the same biological mother & father. This lends itself to creating a different type of relationship between the sisters and their adoptive parents. I love how Sarah Morgan explores the delicate nature of this type of parent-child relationship.

THE VERDICT
I am Really Into This book! The Christmas Sisters leaves me feeling warm inside. Sarah Morgan weaves a sweet & satisfying tale about love, families & healing nestled during Christmas in Scotland. What more could you want? Oh, I know; more holiday books! Please give me your favorite holiday reads!

Special thanks to Sarah Morgan,  Harlequin & NetGalley for providing our copy in exchange for an honest & fair review.

Three sisters, adopted at a young age when their parents perished in a climbing accident, reunite to celebrate Christmas in the Scottish Highlands – and no one is more excited than their parents, Suzanne and Stewart.

Hannah hasn’t been around for a family Christmas in a few years. Her fast-paced job has kept her occupied. That’s still the case but she also has a secret. Beth is mother to two young children. She wants to return to work and try to recapture some of the person she’d been before kids. Her husband is less than thrilled with the idea. Posy, the sister who stayed in Scotland to work in the family business, has met someone who makes her yearn for a bigger life – one that would take her away from home.

As the three sisters work through their challenges will their parents get the family Christmas they hoped for? I enjoyed finding out and recommend to fans of Sarah Morgan and women’s fiction. Who can resist a Scottish setting at Christmas time? Not this reader!

This was a sweet book focusing on 3 sisters with different lives and how their family relationships work together. A little heavier than most of Sarah Morgan's other series titles, but just as satisfying.

A feel good book that makes you cry on one page and laugh out loud on the next. Wonderfully written. Very warming.

The McBride sisters couldn’t be more different: analytical and career-driven Hannah, former beauty marketing/PR representative turned full-time mom Beth, and outdoor-loving Posey, helping run her parents’ business. The things that they share in common: a tragic and traumatic past that led to their adoption by Suzanne and Stewart when Hannah was 8 years old, and a predilection for anxiety. The sisters and Suzanne serve as narrators in this holiday romance, balancing the cheer you’d expect from a novel of this genre with realistic family dynamics.

I expected a light, breezy story that I could float in and out of, waiting for my computer to load, water to boil, etc. What I got was a story that I couldn’t put down. While each of the narrators annoyed me at one point in her own way, and I wanted them all to sit down and talk to each other, they all seemed human and I was rooting for them throughout the story. The supporting cast was there, mostly filling archetypal roles: “good guy,” “evil boss,” “understanding father,” “preschool age daughter,” “clueless father.” Necessary to the story, but the plot action is centered firmly on the sisters, their internal struggles, their relationships with each other, and their views on the state of their romantic lives.

Final verdict: The Christmas Sisters is on my to-acquire list, and will be recommended to anyone who is looking for a holiday story with a little more depth than an average made-for-tv movie.

Well this book gave me a much needed Christmas in July! What a good way to spend a hot day reading a story set in much cooler times. This is a wonderful and heartwarming story about 3 sisters, Hannah, Bethany and Posey, and the tragedy that changed their lives forever so many years earlier. It's about love and family and everything that goes along with that. It's about learning to forgive and move on and form new beginnings with each other. It's amazing how the author is able to keep 3 storylines going and give us so much of each one. I love that!! I also really love Suzanne! What she did for those girls is beyond special. She really gave the whole family is not always blood dynamic a new meaning. The 3 sisters are so different yet all connected by their past. I really enjoyed it!!

Three sisters who couldn’t be more different from each other with varying degrees of anxiety in their lives, all facing a life altering change. This story is told from 4 POV and while I understand the reasons for this, I almost think when we need so many peoples perspective an alternate style is needed. You have Posy, Beth & Hannah & also Suzanne - their mother. All considered main characters. While I felt like the plot had a fair amount of depth, the characters genuine angst, sometimes there was too much going on. You’ve got an intense situation developing for all 4 of them. I just prefer a deeper look at 2 characters. Posy was my favourite.

Conflict resolution is interesting, though a little hurried, nice pleasant ending.

I received this complimentary eARC from Netgalley. This is my honest review.
