Murder Gone Missing: A Southern California Mystery by Lida Sideris is the newest addition to this series. What a fun and twisty mystery.

Corrie is a lawyer in the entertainment industry by day and a private investigator when coerced into it by friends or friends of her father. She is accident prone which leads to some truly funny situations as this time she is on the hunt for a missing dead body. Most of the action revolves around a small LA college campus where Michael works. With several suspects, missing animals, twists and turns and misdirection by false clues, Corrie and Michael are often confused but determined to solve the case before Michael gets arrested. This was an enjoyable adventure for an afternoon.

A fun to read and fast paced mystery!
It's well written, full of interesting characters and with a plot that keep you guessing.

I really enjoyed this book and finished it in two sittings. I did feel the book may have been about 30 pages too long. At one point Corrie says she is ready to wrap up the case and I was thinking I was too, but I still had 30% to go. The character of Corrie is likable and so were her two men, but, to me, the characters of Michael and James were interchangeable. There were some amusing moments, but not the laugh out loud I was expecting. I did guess the murderer. Really I thought it should have been Michael, but he was ruled out pretty quick. There were flaws, such as: call the police, but I guess that’s what makes a story a story.

I do recommend it. It is a palatable cozy mystery.

Murder Gone Missing by Lida Sideris is the 2nd book in the Corrie Locke mysteries series, and another great book. I loved her 1st book Murder and Other Unnatural Disasters, and I loved this one too. Corrie Locke is an attorney who works for a movie studio. When her best friend Michael calls and tell her, he just found his mean boss dead, she rushes to help him. When they get there the body is gone. Not only is this book laugh out loud funny, it has a great mystery also. There are twists and turns around every corner. I found this book to be a quick read, with a well developed plot and characters. If you love funny cozy mysteries, I strongly recommend this book. I am anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.

This was a riot to read! Corrie Locke has just become a lawyer and she has sworn off P.I. work. Then her friend Michael, finds his mean bully boss stabbed in the back. Michael and his boss had a big fight earlier that day, and he just knows the cops will blame him. He also 'messed with the crime scene a bit'. He call Corrie who is sweet on Micheal to help him. Corrie isn't the most graceful swan in the water so to speak. She and Michael go back to the crime scene, and the body is missing and so is the letter that will point directly at Michael as the top suspect! Corrie gets into all kinds of things trying to find the real killer, problem is there are many false leads and she is running out of time. Can she do it before Michael is arrested? You will need to read the story to find out. I would like to thank the publisher, Blacklit PR and Net Galley for an ARC of this book. I voluntarily reviewed it and this is my opinion of it.

Corrie is back and trying to clear her best friends name. Add in a cast of quirky suspects and you’ll be guessing until the end. This fast paced mystery will have you quickly turning the pages. Im looking forward to more Corrie adventures!

Entertainment lawyer Corrie Locke gets a frantic phone call from her best friend Michael. Michael, a co-associate dean at a LA technical college, has learned that he was being suddenly demoted and goes to confront his boss. Finding him stabbed to death in his office, Michael panics and tampers with the crime scene. Corrie agrees to help and they return to the boss' office but the body has vanished. Now with the help of her plus-sized friend Veera, and ADA James, Corrie uses all the tricks she learned from her late PI father to help clear Michael. The zany, frantic madcap action and humour in this book reminded me of the Janet Evanovich mysteries.

a book about a woman who ist doing private investigation in her free time. She helps her friend to solve a murder an a lot of unexspecting things are happening. You really can not guess the end. It has murder, love, chaos, surprises everything a good reading book needs.

“Murder Gone Missing” by Lida Sideris, is book two in the “Southern California Mystery” series, but a new reader can enjoy this book without having read the previous book. The author provides quick background comments in the context of the storyline to fill in anything needed from the previous book.
The first person narrative opens with simple night of Corrie Locke breaking into her mom’s house to borrow a few clothes. Then suddenly someone else, Michael, is there as well. Michael is tripping over trashcans and whining about a demotion at work, and oh yes, a dead body. Poor Michael, you just hate it when you try to quite a job, but someone has already killed your boss. Right away, you just know this is not going to go well.
The drama and hilarity continues from there. The plot is dialogue driven, and the dialogue is hilarious. Clues abound but how does one tell what is important and what is not?
“Find something that doesn’t fit. You mean like a size two pantsuit?”
Pursuit of the killer is a slapstick comedy of errors. Who knew looking for a body in a closet could be so funny? Even the suspects are funny.
“Why is she a suspect?” Michael came around to face me. “She’s a complex math major with the capability of committing a complex crime. She’s probably ruthless, judgmental, has no practical skills, and refuses to use contractions.”
I received a copy of “Murder Gone Missing” from Lida Sideris, Level Best Books, and NetGalley. This is a quick book to read, and enjoyable every step of the way. But seriously, be careful; you might just laugh right out loud as you read.

Murder Gone Missing is the second book in the Corrie Locke series but can be read as a standalone.
Corrie's best friend Michael has been demoted from his do-dean position. When he goes back to the dean's office to confront him he finds him stabbed in his office.
When he and Corrie go back to retrieve Michael's letter of resignation they find that the body is gone.
Then ADA James gets involved. Corrie is trying to find out what happened and save her friend. Things are getting very heated between the three of them.
Funny and engaging it's also fast paced without the dull moment. Very unpredictable and cleverly plotted, this is the great read for all mystery lovers.

This is a fun little mystery, where Corrie (entertainment lawyer and part time sleuth) helps her friend Michael figure out who killed his boss. Michael's in the hot seat as a prime suspect, so they want to figure out the killer's identity before the boss' body is found. There seems to be a hint of romance added in, as Corrie tries to figure out which of her two best male friends she's in love with. There are several eclectic characters in this story, maybe almost too many to believe. The plot is a bit slow, but has lots of twists. There are a few side-plots that never really get resolved, so one wonders why they are there (perhaps to tease a sequel?)

It made me laugh, the plot was convoluted and intriguing. Corrie's ideas were wild and fun!! I can't believe she broke into her mom's house instead of just using her key. A fun read. I think most mystery readers will enjoy this book.

This is an enjoyable, fast-paced cosy mystery. Corrie makes for a very likeable heroine in that she’s not perfect at what she does, but she always gives things her best shot and, above all, she’s a loyal friend. Her friend Michael finds himself in a tricky situation, and so Corrie does what she can to prove his innocence.
The author is very good at creating atmosphere. When Corrie was investigating the crime scene, I was on tenterhooks, thinking she’d be discovered at any moment! There’s lot more tension in the novel, but also plenty of humour and ingenuity. You’re kept guessing right to the end, thanks to clever red herrings and false trails that the author throws in.
The characters we meet are interesting and rounded. All in all this is a very entertaining and fun read.

I couldn't really connect with any of the characters so it feel a little flat and felt drawn out to me.

There are some funny moments and antics with a bit of bumbling around trying to solve this mystery. Not a bad read, but you might have to be in just the right mood.

This book is a fast packed crime thriller. It's fun, the characters are lovable and the murder mystery kept me involved. The love triangle or angles seemed forced and don't make a huge difference to the story line. It's a second book in the series, which I didn't know when I read the book but I could read it easily and not feel like I missed anything at all.
