General Martinez grows tired of the fighting and craves retirement until he meets the Priestess and the strange little Holy man who share a prophecy that cannot be ignored.

The General must now choose between the life of a young boy and his life long friend and King. Death is inevitable and when it comes, pain will follow…..

This book is a novelization of the Biblical story of the shepherd boy David. When his brothers are conscripted for war by King Saul, David is the only son to stay behind and help tend the family's sheep. In an attempt to know the well-being of his sons, his father sends David to seek some news of them. But things change once King Saul meets young David and things blossom from there. This book covers the, now famous, story of how David slew the Philistine giant and the subsequent happenings in his life up to the point in which David becomes King in his own right.

I thought this book was quite good. It expands on the Biblical story most of us grew up hearing and learning about. This would be a good read for anyone who enjoys historical fiction or anyone who is interested in religious fiction.
