Description
On a dare, Kylie Matthews lands smack in the middle of Solomon's Gate—Castle Creek's new Christian dating agency—and she finds herself revealing exactly what she's waiting for in a relationship: "The kiss that steals my breath away." What she doesn't reveal is her lack of self-esteem or her irrational reaction to facial disfigurement. Neither is applicable to her quest to find the perfect match. But that seemingly superficial malady becomes all-important when her first agency-arranged date is Rick Dale—a man who is everything Kylie is searching for. He's handsome, smart, fun. Rick has it all... including an angelic six-year-old daughter with severe scarring on one side of her face. Hard at work founding a therapy camp for young female victims of deformity or disfigurement, Rick wants Kylie to be a part of those plans. She'd love to say yes... but how can she, when every contact with the facility's guests—and Rick's own daughter—will make her violently ill? Kylie is ready to admit their relationship doesn't stand a chance, but she's forgotten that God makes a way where there seems no way.

Kylie's Kiss is a beautifully written inspirational romance. I always enjoy Ms. Latham's book and her latest is no exception. Loved the plot and the characters. I highly recommend this book.

Kylie has lived all her life under the shadow of her beauty-pageant mother and movie-star sister, leaving her with a horror of any form of facial imperfection and absolutely no self-esteem. Forced to visit Solomon's Gate matchmaking agency by a dare from a friend, she is certain that she will never measure up. But the man she is set up with quickly shows that he considers her beautiful both within and without, and things seem to be going well - until he shows her a picture of his daughter, who has terrible scarring on one side of her face from burns as a baby. Rick has long had a dream to create a centre where kids with facial scars etc can come to learn to live with their physical imperfections and grow confidence. Now his dream is coming true - but somehow it is no longer enough. Kylie has stolen his heart - but an overheard conversation makes him realise that things may not be that simple. Can Kylie overcome her phobia and learn to consider herself worthy of a good man's love? And will she ever get that toe-curling kiss she's longed for?
I really enjoyed this book, from first to last - with good writing, lovable characters, touching situations, a good message and some humour, what more could one want? I even learnt a new word - though I'm not sure I can spell it! Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good clean contemporary romance with a background Christian message (not over the top). An author to read more of...
