This book was a Godsend. I was dealing with some issues and the devotions in this book settled me down. Very concise written devotionals that are easy to read. If you need a reminder of God's love for you, this book will provide it. Enjoyed greatly! Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.

Be encouraged as a woman

Darlene Sala leads "Guidelines International Ministries" with her husband. She has written multiple books to encourage women and uses also her weekly radio commentary toward this goal. Her book "You are loved - Inspiration to refresh you soul", originally published in February 2014 under the title "Refreshing words for busy women", is now republished by Barbour Publishing. It is an inspirational devotional with the goal to uplift the reader with 90 short readings.
Sala starts with a personal word to the reader and then presents her readings based on some of the experiences of Bible characters such as Peter, Micah, or Habakuk, but also on other personalities such as her own father, Bill Bright, Madame Guyon, or others who are not named.
Sala links the experiences of those people with Bible references. She wants to show Gods heart and His concern for the daily trails and struggles for the reader. Some of the topic she addresses are loneliness, stress, aging, and money. She underlines that life is hard, but God is good which he shows in the fact that he is always watching, listening, and loving.
It is the first book by Sala that I have read. This book can be recommended for women who need a short spiritual boost since the individual devotions can be read in just a few minutes.
