Description
What links the two largest Texas Universities to the disappearance of
Laredo ATF agent, Stuart Dyson? When the investigation stalls, FBI
Tracker Adrian Dillard is sent to Texas to find out why. He’s not
greeted with open arms.
Plagued by resentment from local agents,
his uncanny intuition kicks into high gear when every lead ends with a
dead body. Who knows more than they are telling? Is the missing agent an
unwitting victim, or a deadly mastermind? And who is staying a step
ahead of him?
Dyson’s fiancée, Homicide Detective Tracy Harlowe,
may have the answers, but she’s not talking. The secrets the impetuous
detective is hiding could very well get her killed.
A chilling
discovery puts Homeland Security on high alert. Pressure mounts as the
President demands answers. When Tracy and a truck load of explosives
disappear, Adrian knows he’s out of time. There’s only one question
left. Who dies next?

This is a good story that kept me engaged to the end. I thought this was an easy read and enjoyed it for the most part. If I had a nit to pick, it would be that there were too many characters to follow for my taste. I found myself repeatedly having to go back to the beginning to re-read the character descriptions, which I am glad was included. Nevertheless I would recommend the book and I'll keep an eye out for the authors work.
A federal agent goes missing, along with a bunch of explosives and detonators. A team of FBI agents is called to Laredo, Texas, to try to uncover what happened. This very realistic scenario is helped by a large supporting cast of characters which can be daunting to keep track of but ultimately is well drawn and full of interesting conflicts and collisions. The plot moves along quickly and the skills of the agents makes for interesting reading.
The Trackers are an elite unit within the FBI. When an ATF agent, Stuart Dyson, vanishes while undercover in Texas, they are called in to help. FBI Tracker Adrian Dillard is tapped to lead the team. The investigation begins to center on two militia groups who have quite a history in Texas. However, Dillard is frustrated by the fact that the missing agents’s fiance is hindering the investigation by going rogue and pursuing leads on her own. It is only after she disappears and Dillard discovers that a shipment of gold is scheduled to arrive at a new depository in Texas that the full breadth of the plot is realized. Dillard must devise a way to stop the hijacking of the gold shipment and rescue the two missing agents before it is too late.
“A u7 9” by Anita Dickson is the third entry in her FBI Trackers series. Despite not reading the first two yet, I found this novel’s plot easy to follow. Dickason has nearly 30 years of experience in law enforcement and the detailed nature of this novel bears that out. The plot seems quite realistic and the characters very authentic. I enjoyed this novel and will definitely go back and catch up with the first two novels. I also look forward to the continuation of this series. I strongly recommend this novel and give it 4/5 stars.
