When I am granted an ARC it is with the promise of an honest and fair review. Who jilts a duke a week before the wedding? Who decides to befriend the most notorious earl in the ton? Who decides that THIS is the man for her? Our heroine! It is a lady's prerogative after all.

This is a well written and intriguing story, in that you never know what is going to happen and it is full of surprises. The story is about two members of the ton, Garrett and Natalie, who are both involved in a scandal. Natalie broke her engagement to a Duke and Garrett is the son of a mad man who is a murderer. All through the story you will pull for the two of them to be together. I would highly recommend this book for a great read.

In the aftermath of a family scandal, the hero resents his inherited title and new responsibilities, and accepts the invitation of a friend to lay low at a country house. Meanwhile, the daughter of the house has thrown over an excellent match to help the would be groom find true love, but she's it hit with the punitive ton scandal and is also lying low at her family's estate--obviously, these two are going to collide, with plenty of sexy sparks and well written character development.

Another lovely story by Ms. Anders. I read the first book and was looking forward to Natalie and Garrett’s story. Both of the main characters are sticklers, kind of, for propriety and that causes frustration, misunderstandings, and lust. I love how these characters find their way to a happily ever after even though about 75% through you are not sure they can overcome their selflessness (almost to their detriment). I know, selflessness sounds like a good thing, but in this story it is not. They deserve to be happy and to hell with what others think. I loved both Natalie and Garrett.

The Duke of Montford and Abigail are next. We get a hint of their story in this book.

Have read books by Annabelle Anders & no doubt a very good author ...i have added her to my list of favourite writers... Though this story is predictable...her presentation &flair of witing keeeps a reader captivated... even though u know the conclusion or get a gist of the contents u tend to read on..

This story is about Lady Natalie spencer who appears in the the previous book " Nobody's Lady " wherein she breaks off her betrothal to the Duke of Cortland, thus has left her family with a scandal.

Garrett is misunderstood as a rake & brash gentlemen by the ton , Natalie as a headstrong person ... both ve a scandalous beginning , both the characters are well drawn out and a delight to read. Natalie is bold, sparky, passionate , loving .intelligent ....she compliments Garrets 's insecurities, doubts by understanding ,supporting him...Annabelle has put in wit ,humour while writing the story ...

Its a very heart touching story .... a nice & outstanding book which will warm your heart ...i highly recommend it & do read the 1st book in this series also ...quite wonderful it is... Annabelle makes u feel her stories, so compassionate, with beautiful emotions ...

I love this story. Natalie is the girl I want to be friends with. Strong, determined, honest and innocent. Garrett is incredible. A horrible childhood, a mad father...he suffers the cut from the ton. No spoiler here...read this story, you will enjoy every second. Some great secondary characters too!

A Lady’s prerogative is the second in the Lord loves a Lady series. This book can be read as a standalone as the author has crafted a story that stands perfectly well on its own.

Lady Natalie Spencer is frustrated by the rules set down for unmarried ladies. She made the decision to forego a loveless marriage releasing her betrothed to marry the one he loved and now she risks scandal and ruin. Withdrawn from society by her family she is not allowed to interact with anyone until she is sent to their country estate.

Garrett Castleton, the new Earl of Hawthorne, has been ostracised by society for the sins of his father. When his friend offers a respite from the devastation left by his father he reluctantly accepts. When he finds himself drawn to his friend’s sister he is torn between following his heart or his honour.

Natalie is an intelligent, witty characters who acts selflessly to help those around her regardless of the risks. Garrett is strong and resilient, and I found myself rooting for these two characters to find their happy ever after.
The plot develops at a nice pace and there is a perfect blend of angst, love and of course a little steam.
I would recommend this book to any lover of Regency romance.

Lady Natalie Spencer, Lord Ravensdale’s daughter, has jiltet the Duke of Cortland and he turned right around and Married Miss Lilly Beauchamp. With her reputation in tatters Lady Natalie, was whisked off to the country to salvage her reputation. Now, I could not be certain of the timeline but, the general course of these events took place over the summer into late October. It remains unclear if certain events occured over the course of days or over course of weeks. If Lady Natalie’s situation wasn’t precarious enough, it was reported that the scandalous new Earl of Hawthorne was present at the Ravensdale house party. The previous Earl of Hawthorne, was a crazed villain who attempted to harm the now Duchess of Cortland and his legacy caused many to shun his heir. However, it was reported that despite being tempted with kisses and midnight strolls, the Earl valiantly battled his rakish ways to play the gentleman for his lady. But dear reader, somehow the lady was abducted and could not initially recall how she came to be within Lord Hawthorne’s trunks. It is apparent that somewhere between fighting his attraction and nursing her back to health, Lord Hawthorne fell in love with Lady Natalie; but the stubborn man refused to marry her on account of his parentage and her acceptance in society. It was up to the Lady to convince society to accept him and to convince him to marry her.

This is such a great series. Book 2 “A Lady’s Prerogative” follows on from book 1 (but it is stand-alone) when Lady Natalie, having jilted the Duke, finds herself attracted to Garrett Castleton, Earl of Hawthorne. He is a good friend of her brother, Stone, and has been invited to stay at the family home. How they come together is so delightful to read but their relationship is not without its battles.
Natalie is such a strong-minded character and her determination to believe in Garrett makes her such a great character. Meanwhile, Garrett believes he is not good enough for Natalie but he himself, is struggling to put his past behind him. These are two great characters that will resonate with you long after the book is finished. I look forward to reading more from Ms Anders. Her books just continue to get better.

This was a well-written, entertaining book. Lady Natalie Spencer has been sent from London to the country after ending her engagement. Garrett Castleton, one of her brother's friends, is visiting their country home before he goes to take over the estate he has inherited along with an earldom. He is trying to shed his roguish lifestyle, but she is frustrated with her banishment and wants to be a little naughty. They strike up a friendship and events proceed from there. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

I received free copy from netgalley for an honest review. This is the first time I've ever read anything by Annabelle Anders but it will definitely not be the last. I love the story I love Garrett who's are broken hero. He is so sweet and damaged and the relationship between him and Natalie feels so organic. Natalie is also a lead that really lives up to that title she is strong and confident and knows exactly what she wants and goes for it.

A throughly enjoyable romance! The characters were well defined and the passion between them palpable. I was. Little confused with Natalie's father's motives and there were quite a few secondary characters that took a little sorting out, but overall I really enjoyed spending time with this couple!

A Feel-Good, Sweet, & Humorous Regency Romp

A Lady's Prerogative is the 2nd book in a series, though it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone (I had not read the first book prior to reading this one, and I did not feel as though I was missing vital information to this story). Natalie is a spirited young debutante looking to "buck the system" after she has been sent away to the country following her decision not to marry her betrothed. Oh the scandal! Never mind that had her intended broken things off with her, he would not be carted off to one of his family's remote estates. Her irritation at the double-standard is soon soothed by the realization that her brother's friend happens to be a hot earl (Garrett) who has decided to give up his rakish behavior and buckle down to focus on his newly inherited responsibilities. Natalie has other plans for him, and she sets her sights on gaining his attentions.

This story is sweet and gives the reader "all the feels" -- there is joy, sorrow, humor, and lots of chemistry between these characters. Even though there isn't very much by way of "lovemaking scenes" in this book, the reader gets the strong sense of intimacy from the way the author describes their interactions and thoughts. I generally prefer a little more heat in my romance novels, but this was still an enjoyable read. Garrett is definitely swoon-worthy as a kind and chivalrous lord; Natalie is delightful as a spunky young lady. Even her scenes with her brother were engaging - she kept him on his toes, and it was obvious they genuinely cared for one another. In addition, there were some fun twists that keep the reader interested throughout and make for a easy and fun read.

A Lady's Prerogative by Annabelle Anders is book Two in the Lord Love a Lady series. This is the story of Natalie Spencer and Garrett Castleton. I have read the previous book and we do meet Natalie there, but I feel this is easily a standalone book.
Natalie story was a much wanted and a job to read....loved that character. Natalie was strong and was unable with how things were not fair between the men and the ladies..but she was caring too. Garrett has just inherited a title along with an estate in need of a lot of care.
Garrett has been a rake but he was so much more and your heart went out to him. Natalie and Garrett were what they both needed in the end.
Really enjoyed their story!

Another great story from Annabelle Anders. Lady Natalie Spencer just broke off her engagement to the Duke of Cortland. It was the right thing to do as neither one loved each other and the Duke was in love with someone else. Her father, the Earl of Ravensdale is very upset and limited her social life until it is forgotten. While walking thru the park, she meets the Earl of Hawthorne, Garrett Castleton. While she wants to speak to him, she can't since her father has threatened her with going to Scotland until the ton forgets her broken engagement. He thinks it is because, he has inherited his Father's title and mental problems. When Natalie's brother invites Garrett to their country house, she sees that he is not the monster people think. He loves her but will not marry her because he is afraid of of his children having this mental disorder. He feels unworthy. Then the secrets start coming out. When Natalie becomes comprised, will Garrett marry her despite his feeling? Sweet story of love and overcoming obstacles to be happy. I received this book from Net Galley and Wild Rose Press for allowing me to read this book for a honest review and no compensation otherwise.

This was a decent read. The beginning ten chapters were beautiful. The story itself was good but seemed to be too long for the original storyline. Characters werw believable and loveable.

This is a delightful story about two people who were not supposed to fall for each other. Lady Natalie has recently broken her engagement to a duke and as a result her parents are less than happy with her. In an effort to save her reputation they have sent her to their country estate to let some time pass and hope that society moves on to another “little scandal”.
While staying out of sight with her colorful family, Natalie’s brother brings his friend, an earl, Lord Garrett, along to the estate. Garrett has quite a rakish reputation and to make matters worse, his father was a madman!
Is Garrett as mad as his father? Natalie certainly knows he is attractive, wild, and stubborn, but hopefully not crazy. This is because Natalie can’t seem to keep herself away from him, after all, if she were a man, she could behave as she pleased, it’s just not fair!
This is the first book I have read by this author and I will definitely be reading more, as I really enjoyed this. I highly recommend this book to readers of historical romance who enjoy witty repartee, a bit a mystery, and a host of entertaining characters with their hea.

A Lady's Prerogative by Annabelle Anders is a thoughtful story of a young woman who wanted to make her own choices in a time when it was not only not aloud, but society frowned on independent thought from women. The story also has suspense and plenty of misunderstandings to keep it interesting. There are many well developed secondary characters that really bring the story to life.

Natalie has caused a major scandal by jilting her betrothed, the Duke of Cortland. Because of her actions, her family sends her to the country in disgrace. Natalie is not going about to feel bad for doing the right thing. It is obvious the Duke was not the one for her and he was for her friend, so she certainly wasn't going to stand in the way of true love. Natalie just needs a project to pass the time.

Garrett Castleton is still suffering fallout due to his late father's reputation and actions. When his friend, Stone, invites him to the country estate to escape it all, Garrett cannot say no. What Garrett isn't counting on is that Stone's family has a plan for getting him back into society's good graces and Stone's sister, Natalie is determined to be of the most help. Garrett is intrigued by Natalie, but he has no time for her maneuvering. The last thing he needs is a wife, or is it?

I give author Annabelle Anders A LADY'S PREROGATIVE 3.5 out of 5 stars. To be honest, it would have a higher rating, but I felt Natalie's character was a little silly and immature at times. I'm totally fine with Garrett being kind of arrogant and set in his ways... that's to be expected for a man shaped by what he has been through growing up. The chemistry was there from the start. Natalie finally finds the one. She just has to get past his defenses. All in all, I really enjoyed this addition to Ms. Anders's LORD LOVE A LADY SERIES. I highly recommend reading it's predecessor, book one, NOBODY'S LADY, first.

I received this book as a an ARC from Net Galley. Lady Natalie has disappointed her parents by breaking off her engagement to the Duke of Cortland. To deal with the scandal a and help preserve her reputation, she is sent to the country. At the same time, the Earl of Hawthorne is dealing with issues of his own including a bad reputation due to his father's actimns. Always one to mettle, Natalie decides to help fix the Earl's reputation even though they get off to a less than stellar start. There were a couple of holes in the story for me because i had not read the first book in the series, but it was easy to figure out what was going on in the book. This book was a fun and easy read. This book did not have much in the way of sex scenes but you could definitely see the chemistry between the two main characters. This book was well written and will definitely keep you entertained.

A Lady's Prerogative is a great read. It is the story of lady Natalie Spencer, who seems like the perfect ton Lady..until she jilts her betrothed just shortly before the wedding is to take place, and he was a duke no less! And Garrett Castleton (an Earl) who is a close friend of Natalie's brother, but also the son of a madman and murderer. The store will teach you not to judge a book by its cover, as per say lol. Meaning get to know people before judging. All in all I would say it is a great book, and will definitely be reading the others in this series.

This was the second installment in the Lord Love a Lady series, and it was a quite a fun read! I really liked Natalie in the first book, so I was glad to see that she would be the heroine in this second story. (If you didn't read the first one, never fear; this one can totally stand alone on its own. But you'll enjoy this one even more if you do read it!)

Natalie was recovering from jilting a duke, and her parents banished her to their country home to avoid the gossip. Her mother hosted a house party, and there Natalie met Garrett again, a friend of her brother Stone. They had met previously and it didn't go very well. Though he was an earl, Garrett was not much accepted by the ton, as his father was a madman and a murderer. That didn't exactly endear him to society, though his parentage was certainly no fault of his own.

Sparks fly between the two, though Garrett tries to fight it. It's hard to fight against Natalie, though! She knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to experience life. Garrett didn't want her to get hurt, which she surely would be if she was with him. The more the story progressed, the more it seemed that things would end in disaster for both. of them. But stick with it, as Ms. Anders does not disappoint! (And a little fella by the name of Baby Bear will give you the warm fuzzies.)

A definite buy buy buy book. While this author is not one I am very familiar with in the past, in the future I shall be looking for her books. I was totally impressed with the way she set up a story that was so very different from the usual historical romances. I enjoyed her characters being like real people with real problems that found solutions that did not require all being selfish or greedy. Each page I turned brought me further into the story making it almost impossible for others to get my attention. A natural story teller it seems in her writing that this author is one to keep in your mind to buy her books and relax with. So while I was given this arc via NetGalley, I can do nothing less then to give a review from my own opinion. Buy the book, sit and enjoy! Regards, Anna Swedenmom

Lady Natalie Spencer took the spotlight and kept it through this riveting novel. The words and unfolding of this book was just as delightful as the cover! I gave an honest review in exchsnge for an ARC of this novel.

Lady Natalie Spencer, in the previous story, had broken off her engagement to a Duke in order for him to be with his true love. By doing this she created a scandal of her own which she felt was extremely undeserved, after all, rakes like the Earl, Garrett Castleton, seem to get away with bad behavior. Just as Garrett is trying to show his well behaved side, Natalie is tempting him with her bold and carefree behavior. Who will win out?
A typical historical romance with a good plot and well developed characters.
