Description

When a full-blooded Cheyenne called the Bone Lady asks Al Quinn to find her missing daughter Gerta he soon realizes he can find no trail, no starting point. Forced to grab at glimmers and hunches that lead him to the seamy edge of a hidden child porn industry, Sheriff Clayton asks Al, even though he is a retired department detective, to cooperate with an undercover FBI agent. Al’s pal Fergie flat out thinks the Bone Lady is one of the scariest women she’s ever met, and not just because she works in a butcher shop, but because some bodies begin to show up sliced up like a holiday ham. Each effort to find Gerta leads down a new dangerous path, from Russian mafia types to his old foes connected with the Mexican cartels. It may be that this time he just has to take a shot in the dark.

A Shot in the Texas Dark is available for purchase in both print and ebook formats.

Thank you NetGalley and Red Adept Publishing for this arc.

This was a rip-snorting read! Lots of real "Texas" action (completely implausible), likeable characters (easily recognizable "Texan" stereotypes), some smarter than others and some real dumb ones. I knew that I had to stay awake well past my usual bedtime last night (July 4th.....in a neighborhood where way, way, way too may fools are parted from their money by fireworks stands....leaving me to provide the filling in a nervy, 150 pound dog sandwich). This was the perfect entertainment for me!

3.5 stars rounded up.

Was blessed with an advance copy, thank you Netgalley and the publishers. will support this author and buy when available. This is the fourth book featuring Al Quinn and his bunch of live in posse..... Cant wait to see what adventures they have next.
