Description
Zarronian warrior Valan Eirikson refuses to accept a Wrothian female as his mate until the Council threatens to relieve him of his starship command. Enraged by his inability to control his need for his bondmate Valan treats Lia as a prisoner and mistress rather than a beloved bondmate. When his warriors learn her identity and demand that the Zarronian Council punish her for her sire's war crimes he realizes too late that he's endangered her life. The bonding will keep them together but only love can make her want him.

I really liked Valan's Bondmate. Lots of emotion, angst, love, passion and sweetness. I like alien world stories from time to time - especially hot stories with hot men!
Valan is forced by his mating fever to take a bondmate. Unfortunately, the only females available are the ones whose men were responsible for killing the females on Valan's planet. He will take a female but he won't love her or cherish her as his bondmate. He will continue to keep a mistress and use his bond female for children.
Lia is scared, she is being traded to a monstrous warrior by her sire and she has no say in the decision. She is even more scared when she wakes up in the middle of the night with a huge warrior standing over her. They fight and the next thing she knows she is onboard his ship with thousands of females from her planet.
Valan has chosen Lia and is attracted to her but isn't happy about it. There are some really hot scenes between the two when they first come together. They distrust each other and Valan makes some terrible decisions in his treatment of his bondmate.
Here is where the story really picks up. There are a number of misunderstandings between the couple that they needed to sit and talk out. Their stubbornness doesn't help them communicate with each other.
This was a fun book to immerse myself in. I enjoyed the story and really got to like the characters. I was hoping for a book about Cam and Minda, but don't see one. I hope to finish the series.
