Raines, a true artist at heart, has lived quietly in the shadows of Benjamin's success as a housewife and mother for over twenty years and finally breaks out on her own, leaving the marriage and all his money behind. She begins quite a comical adventure in the working world at the bottom of the corporate ladder and she is determined to make it on her own. But something still seems off. Was leaving Ben really the answer to her happiness?

And Leo, an extremely brilliant and reserved teenage boy is head over heels in love with Becca, his first girl friend. But he can't escape all the incessant bullying and threats from her ex-boyfriend. In turn, Leo grapples with his last few weeks of high school, facing one of society’s biggest and unresolved problems-- gun violence in schools. 

This book reminds us that life is complex and we get lost in all these complexities. These three characters unite to bring the story a true meaning of happiness, hope, forgiveness, and purpose.
