I'm very ambivilent regarding this story.
There are most often clear " good guys" and clear " bad guys" in a story, but not really on this one. It sort of felt like the main characters could be either good guys doing some bad stuff or bad guys doing some good stuff. That being said it did hold my interest and I would read a sequel. I did really feel that bloodslaves were not explained adequetly and it left me wondering.

I received this book as an early release for an honest feedback. Quite a different spin on the typical vampire/human paranormal.
Molly has been bitten and kidnapped by a vampire. Instead of being rescued, she is given the choice of becoming a tender or die. During the training process, she starts to develop a unique bond with the vampire who ‘freed’ her from her captor. Ultimately causing havoc for both of them and at the same time opening up a big can of worms in their world.

Dominic snapped off the tips of his fangs and his teeth were humanized and threw away the tips. Then he left to join Rhys in the training room. Rhys was with a woman that was an easy transport from Utah haunt and she was trainable. She would bring a good price on the vampire Tender market. Rhys said there was a local situation a young defector from the Hanson haunt in California managed to hitch a ride to Denver and took a hostage-Molly-, and has been hold up south of the airport for three weeks. Rhys said he needed Dominic to meet with this kid and bring the woman back for assessment. Rhys told him to get right on it that night as he wanted everything cleared up before Kai returned or he would make him trade places with Boy for a week In an attempt to push Dominic toward more responsibility Kaius had assigned him to be the collector, the guy that arrived on site to handle the physical mess. He confronted Wyatt ad girl is barefooted and takes off. Dominic steps in her way and tells her they can do this the easy way or the hard way but her feet weren’t going to last much longer. She ran a little bit then fell from the pain in her feet. The stranger than told her to hop on his back before frostbite took over her feet from walking n the snow. When he asked how long Wyatt had her, she said twenty three maybe twenty four days . Unlike most hauntmates, he retained most if his human characteristics and habits. It was Molly’s inability to look past the current moment and into the repercussions of her decisions that had brought Molly to this moment. It was Molly in all her flawed glory who spotted Wyatt in the lounge and singled him out. She had done her darndest to entice him finally he took Molly to his car. Molly hoped to have a short uncomplicated relationship lasting twenty four hours or less. One night stands were easy for Molly, No expectations to remember names or numbers, no one judging her, judging her for the work shift she would likely sleep through. Wyatt had fit the bill. Dominic was taunted by the honeysuckle smell of Molly. He was hungry and trapped beside a meal who was off- limits feeding off the woman he was sent to assist was severely frowned upon. Rhys was furious with Dominic as Kaius was ripping Rhys a new butt as to where Dominic was for the last twenty minutes. Rhys mercurial temper was legendary among his kind, and he was leery because of the rage because of the potential fallout. Kaius would have felt Dominic’s surging blood lust and the roller coaster of primal needs faltering against his rational thoughts. Dominic told he was under house arrest , until his father Kai- returns . Dominic was to go anywhere alone. Dominic had cleaned up dozens of messes for other vampires and other huants over the years.
I just couldn’t get into this book which is odd because I do love my vampire novels. I guess this was just to different and it dragged at least for me. This didn’t even come near to keeping my attention. But I’m sure that this was just too different for me and I didn’t like women being trained to be courtesans just not my thing.I did try to read this twice. I am sure others will love this just not for me.

I really enjoyed this book! I have never read anything from this author before but the description looked interesting and I wasn't disappointed.
All the characters that were introduced were interesting and didn't feel 1 dimensional.
The story kept me captivated and I barely put it down until I was finished!
Can't wait for the next one!
Thanks.x
