I liked this book but I didn’t love it. This was a new to me author, who I can tell has talent. I would read somethin*else of hers in the future.

I wasn't 100% sure what this book would be about, but it had sounded exciting and ended up being a favorite trope of mine. Six years ago, Reale Lynxx was on the rise to becoming the biggest music star around and was happily in love with his girlfriend Amanda who had dreams of becoming a nurse. One day when a scout arrives, Amanda gets some news which causes her to make a sacrifice, and she walks out on Reale. Six years later, Reale is a big star, and Amanda has a cute little five years old named Johnny and is a single mother. On their first vacation at the beach, Amanda and Johnny are having fun when Johnny gets pulled out into the water. He ends up being saved by none other than Reale. Reale can't believe that this is Amanda - the one girl who broke his heart. Has life given him a second chance at love and a chance to be a possible stepfather? What will happen though when Reale discovers the real identity of Johnny's father and reeling in his hurt and betrayal decides to take it out at Amanda? With the feelings of pain, betrayal, and secrets - can Reale and Amanda ever find their way back into love and move forward in life?
A fun second chance romance where no matter what choices and decisions you make, there will always be consequences to your actions.

Amanda stood next to her beach chair shouting to her five year old son who was too close to the water’s edge. Amanda hated the water. So why were they vacationing on the beach? Because her best friend jessica/jess offered her the tiny vacation home on Fire Island for the week. Johnny didn’t hear her so she started across the beach. He was having the time of his life on his first vacation. Jess told her often she was a helicopter mom and she needed to let Johnny grow up. And she would as soon as she knew Johnny was ready and ok. Amanda knew she was over compensating for him not having a father and no extended family. But it was more than that. She loved him and would do anything and everything for him. Than Johnny was gone and even though she didn’t know how to swim she jumped into the water after him and found him. A man was there and she said take my son and she handed Johnny too him. Than a wave took her under. She had to live Johnny couldn’t wake up without her. Than something was wedged in her armpits, dragging her. A man yelled “Got Her!” the voice she heard sounded like Reale than she said his name. Than he looked at her” Mandy?” All Amanda knew that Reale had just risked everything to save Johnny who was unknowingly his son. Than Reale thought this wasn’t possible, Reale let mandy go and started backing away. This woman had ripped his heart out and drobe a Mack truck over it. Reale had thought of Mandy every day for six years. Reale had tried to find her that first year. Mandy invited him to dinner and the prospect of having dinner with Mandy and Johnny made him happier than he had been in six years. Than one night Amanda admitted to Reale Johnny was his son and tried to explain why she had left knowing she was pregnant with his child. Reale was furious and said he would take Johnny. Amanda and reale went to court and she would admit what she knew would win her case against Reale and Reale got custody of Johnny with Amanda having visitation every other weekend for two days. Amanda’s heart broke apparently neither of them was what the other had thought they were.
Another great book. I loved it. I loved and understood the sacrifice Amanda made when she left Reale. I loved the friends she had in Jessica and her mother. I was upset when Reale took Johnny but really respected Amanda for not telling what she knew that would destroy Reale and she would keep her son. I loved the plot and the pace. I loved the ending. I loved Reale and Amanda together. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it

3 1/2 Stars!

Reale and Mandy were in love long before he became a rock star. In fact, just before his stardom hit, Mandy left him because she was pregnant and didn’t want him to give up his career for her and a kid. Six years later they accidentally meet again ... only this time Reale isn’t going to let her go. But will Reale be able to forgive Mandy When he finds out Johnny is his son?

Mandy and Reale just couldn’t get it together at the same time. This book started out with lots of angst and surprises ... and then it just kinda stalled. But it picked up again at the end. I really liked Johnny ... I like it when kids are in a book doing regular kid stuff.
