She dreams of one man, but it's another who has asked for her hand in marriage.

Police Detective Ellie Fitzpatrick was falsely accused and then suspended from the force for accepting bribes from those who were running a protection racket. She not only lost her job, she also lost the man she still dreams of .... Detective Liam O'Reilly.

She is called back to work to assist on a task force to review the case of a killer known as The Slasher. The supposed killer was apprehended and jailed ...however, the finding of another woman killed in the exact manner as earlier victims may mean that they caught the wrong man. The killer is still out there ...and his eyes are on Ellie.

O'Reilly vows to protect Ellis from the vicious killer who's stalking her ... but can she trust him?

This was an enjoyable read showcasing characters, some of whom have issues, some of whom lie, and are much more than cardboard cutouts. It's an engaging mystery with a psychopath perpetuating fear at every turn. There is complete balance between suspense and romance.

Many thanks to the author / Wild Rose Press / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Romantic Suspense. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Resort to murder by Glenys o' Connell.
This was a very good read with some good characters. I liked qEllie and Reilly but I wasn't sure about Brad. There was something about him I didn't like. I also didn't like how he treated Tuesday the dog. He protected Ellie. I liked the ending. 4*.

Resort to Murder by Glenys O'Connell is a mystery/thriller with a heavy dose of romantic suspense.

About the Book:

My Thoughts:
Set in Whitby, and Leeds in the UK, Resort to Murder is written in alternating chapters between recently promoted curt, cold, uncompromising Superintendent Liam Reilly and forthright and determined Ellie Fitzpatrick.

The story includes an array of different characters, none of whom I found likeable or charming, except for Tuesday, though I think this improved the story - it certainly didn’t spoil my enjoyment of it! (You’ll have to read the book to find out Tuesday is).

With a great main plot, sub-plots, plenty of action, twists and red herrings, as well as personal relationships, there was a lot going on in this compelling tale of suspense and mystery. Themes of bribery, corruption, assault, violence and stalking are touched on along with a few others. There was so much to keep the reader turning the pages and it was a riveting read right through to the jaw-dropping ending.

Recommended to those who like their mysteries brimming with romantic suspense.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel, at my request, from Wild Rose Press via NetGalley and this review is my own unbiased opinion.
