And so on. And so forth. 

The Outsider becomes a Hero. He comes up against the Evil Bad Guys and defeats them. When he overcomes the Bad Guys, all his Dreams Come True. 

Typical Hero’s Journey in cute YA format. 

This is a sweet little YA novel, mostly fluff, good for 13-14 year olds. I give it a 3.5-4 stars, mostly because it does what it’s supposed to do. The plot works, the characters say and do the right things. No gorgeous imagery or language, but I wouldn’t expect that in a story like this. 

I’m not actually sure why I spent my precious reading time on this book, except I’d just read a slew of pretty heavy books and needed a break.
