Description

“[Thayne] engages the reader’s heart and emotions, inspiring hope and the belief that miracles are possible.” —Debbie Macomber

New York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne returns to Haven Point to bring readers another heartwarming and inspiring story of Christmas romance—this time for Luke and Elizabeth Hamilton, a couple greatly in need of holiday healing and the magic of Christmas!

Hearts are lighter and wishes burn a little brighter at Christmas…

Elizabeth was trapped in a tangle of postpartum depression and grief after the death of her beloved parents and she couldn’t quite see the way back to her husband and their two beautiful kids…until a car accident stole away her memories and changed her life.

And when she finally remembered the sound of little Cassie’s laugh, the baby powder smell of Bridger, or the feel of her husband’s hand in hers, Elizabeth worried that they’d moved on without her. That she’d missed too much. That perhaps she wasn’t the right mother for her kids or wife for Luke, no matter how much she loved them.

But now, seven years later, Luke finds her in a nearby town and brings Elizabeth back home to the family she loves, just in time for Christmas. And being reunited with Luke and her children is better than anything Elizabeth could have imagined.

As they all trim the tree and bake cookies, making new holiday memories, Elizabeth and Luke are drawn ever closer. Can the hurt of the past seven years be healed over the course of one Christmas season and bring the Hamiltons the gift of a new beginning?

Don’t miss Christmas at the Shelter Inn, New York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne’s latest charming story about two sisters coming together and finding hope one magical Christmas, years after tragedy and loss tore their family apart.

Each of the books in the Haven Point series can be read as a stand-alone, but when you read it as a series, you can truly connect with the characters. Coming Home for Christmas is Book #10 in this series and we finally get to find out what happened to Elizabeth Hamilton, Luke's wife.

Depression is a subject that is very difficult to cover in a novel, but RaeAnne Thayne handled it with compassion and sincerity. This was a true Christmas story, showing the love and hope for a family and the people in the town of Haven's Point. This may be my favorite of all of RaeAnne Thayne's books. I smiled and I cried. Actually, I cried a lot. And the characters... ohmigosh! I loved the characters! Luke's children, especially his son, will warm your heart.

This is a must-read for the holidays.

First I must say I read the earlier book in this series where Elizabeth went missing so I have been waiting for this one to find out what happened to her.
I had so much empathy for Luke how he had to put up with so many people thinking he was to blame for her disappearance, some even hinting at murder. And oh the kids losing their mother, just heart breaking.
RaeAnne Thayne writes with such compassion about the hardships that can happen in real life, and she did a wonderful job with this book that brought my emotions right to the surface and tears to my eyes, I felt this one right to my soul!

Seven year ago Elizabeth Hamilton ran away from her husband and 2 children. She was suffering from major depression and was afraid of harming her children. Tragic circumstances kept Elizabeth from returning home. Now her husband Luke shows up demanding she come back. The DA is planning to arrest him and charge him with her murder. He has been under a cloud of suspicion, suspected of harming her and hiding her body.

This is a heartwarming story about a family finding love and trust again. It is a beautiful story that will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Luke Hamilton is going to be arrested for a murder he didn’t commit and he can prove it. All he has to do is get his wife to come back to town to prove she is still alive. The problem is she doesn’t look the same so it isn’t going to be easy to convince the DA that Elizabeth is still alive. He could care less why she left seven years ago he just wants his name cleared and for her to be gone from his life forever. The problem is when the truth comes out he is torn between his anger and the reality of what really happened.

I knew Luke’s story was going to be awesome and it didn’t disappoint. This is a roller coaster ride of emotions from the first page until the last. It is a journey of tears, sadness, pain and hurt but then there is healing and forgiveness. I loved this wonderful story about forgiveness, secrets, and regrets, new starts and even a happy ever after. RaeAnne Thayne writes such beautiful stories about real situations, where everything isn’t perfect all the time. The characters are a mess and sometimes don’t know what to do with that mess. The author tells a story that draws you in with such a well-written plot; the characters are people you would love to meet and the town a place you would love to live in. I can’t get enough of her hometown stories of romance, second chances and happy ever after! Ms. Thayne has the magic touch when it comes to writing stories that tug at your heart. I absolutely loved this book and will read it again and again! I received an ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.

This book tugs on so many heart strings, but Author RaeAnne Thayne has a way of doing that! From Brambleberry House to Haven Point, journeys of discovery and reconnection lead to a path of understanding and, possibly, forgiveness. Luke and Elizabeth have lost so much time. Can they recover from the curveballs life has thrown them? I enjoyed Luke’s anger and openness, but mostly I enjoyed how integral the children were to the storyline. Their feelings mattered, and they were always treated with respect, love, and care. Sometimes things are out of our control. And sometimes we just mess up. This story deals with the aftermath. And there’s a lot to deal with. Read this book – it might inspire you to be a better person.

Elizabeth has been involved in multiple tragic events, including postpartum depression which caused her to run from her children before she hurt them, and a car accident which stole her memories. It's been a long road back and she has finally managed to piece her history together, but doesn't believe she deserves to have the family she loves. When her husband, who has been accused of her murder, shows up and demands that she come home to straighten things out and sign divorce papers, she's beyond stunned. The road back is tenuous an difficult, as is the journey trust to become a family again. A very emotional read, and wonderful story about the magic of Christmas. Definitely recommend!

I always love a good Christmas read and RaeAnne Thayne is one to provide that Coming Home for Christmas. The characters are ones you can fall in love with quickly and the plot draws you in to a great story.

Elizabeth Hamilton gets overtaken by postpartum depression and what happens to her will leave your heart breaking for her. Elizabeth has been missing for seven years and when her husband Luke gets information of where she is staying, he takes a trip to get her and bring her back to clear his name in town as a murderer. Luke has a lot of anger towards Elizabeth and when he finally finds her, he doesn't have much to say to her. Elizabeth tries to talk to him on the way back to his house, but Luke doesn't have much to say.

When they get to town and Elizabeth goes to clear Luke's name and tells her version of the past seven years, you will have a change of heart about her for sure. What Elizabeth did, she thought was best for her family, but was it really? Everyone will have their own opinion of what Elizabeth should have done, especially in a small town. Rumors fly for sure. Luke has learned how to deal with the rumors, but what will Elizabeth do when faced with the rumors? Will she run away again or will she learn to deal with it all as Luke has had to do?

Luke and ELizabeth's kids will steal your heart immediately. I fell in love with them and just wanted to give them a big hug as well. The whole family has to learn how to deal with a new life. Will it all work for them or will they just go their separate way as they have been doing? I love that this story takes place at Christmas. The spirit of Christmas is always a special one and to be able to share it with loved ones is very special.

You have to read this story for yourself. You will not be disappointed. There were no lulls in this story for me at all. It flowed really well and kept my attention at all times. I am anxious to see what RaeAnne Thayne has in store next for her readers.

All opinions in this review are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this book. I really enjoyed it!

I always expect an amazing book from this author, especially during the holidays. This book…it was so much more for me. It grabbed my heart from the very first pages and never let go, even after I finished. I won’t retell the story – you should read it for yourself as Ms. Thayne does a much better job than I ever could – but I can tell you some of the things I loved.

What happens to Elizabeth Hamilton is devastating. What starts as postpartum depression morphs into something so bad that it gutted me. Even with the unbelievable seven years she went missing, I loved how her character had to learn how to just ‘be’ again. She sacrificed a life with her family, thinking they were better off without her. And Luke, her husband, is so strong and although he is unbelievably angry with his formerly missing wife (and he has his reasons), he still has a heart of gold and listens to that heart when it tells him to listen, watch and help Elizabeth… It’s those cues and clues that can bring them together.

And the children…OMG, your heart will embrace them, break for them, and joyously burst, all in the same book. I loved how this family worked hard to come together again through their individual grief. Luke was an amazing father to his two young children, especially while his wife was “lost”, and the kids are truly characters. I really was engaged from the start of the book, well past the end. Coming Home for Christmas is a special holiday read.

Wonderful romantic Christmas story. I really loved the characters and the town. This story deals with depression and how it can completely change a families life and future. This is the first book that I have read by this author and will be looking for more of her books

His wife disappeared 7 long years ago . Luke had nothing to do with her disappearance, despite the gossips in town saying he probably murdered her. He continues to work and raise his two children with the help. of his sister. After seven years, his future brother-in-law locates his wife, living in another town, under an assumed name. She has begun to regain her memory when Luke shows up on the doorstep determined to take her back to prove he is innocent! Sparks of one kind or another start to fly. A worth addition to the Haven Point series by Thayne.

Complex story about coming home when you've made a mess of things.
Touches on depression and post partum depression as well as traumatic brain injury. Despite all of this I found it to be positive and heartwarming. A beautiful Christmas story.

Coming Home for Christmas by RaeAnne Thayne. I loved this book. There was mystery, love, true family values. There was sadness along the way for Elizabeth and her family. But so much happiness too. I loved Elizabeth and Luke’s story. Read the story was probably one of RaeAnne Thayne’s best ever books. And it is one of my favorite types of books a Christmas story.
