How Did I Get Here?

It was a pleasant read. I enjoyed the writing style and the characters. Though there was nothing especially memorable about this story. It wasn't a page turner. It was entertaining enough to read. A lot of this story is day-to-day routine, and while there are a lot of war-related horrors, they are told from the perspective of someone who has learned to "cope" (in other words, not completely lose his mind) with the chaos around him. There is little of the bravado or honor you might see in a war-based action movie. This book does not glorify combat, shows how socio-economic class determines one's fate in wartime. 
It was a very pleasant read, just nothing spectacular or ground-breaking.

I love her books and this was no exception if your interested in Russian history and the war. The characters were interesting enough and the story. Description she is very good at doing. It's a time in history if your interested in the Crimea War and the Tsar. You see the fighting the families broken up cause of this war,death is at the doorstep.I enjoyed the book and didn't cause in some places it was hard for me to read. That's just me but the time spent to make sure the history was correct. It is a must read if your into this type of time in history!!

This was a pretty good mystery novel, I actual read these out of order but I still really enjoyed reading it. I look forward to more in the series as I'm hooked.
