Hosford delivers a beautiful book; both the poetry and the science behind each of the animal's sleep habits were great. The illustrations were gorgeous and complimented the text well. I will be buying this for my nieces and nephews this Christmas. It makes a great bedtime read.

Whimsical, engaging, educational, enchanting.
I utterly loved this book. We spend half of our life sleeping and this lovely book covers not only the importance of that, but how sleep is crucial for every living creature. The illustrations add to the sense of realism, beauty and awe. I'm an adult and at time's indulge myself in a poetic book with the capacity of touching across generations, multi diverse populations, and touching the soul.
A Songbird Dreams of Singing: Poems about Sleeping Animals delves into the importance of sleeping without making it scary, the perfect book for nighttime reading before bed and even in a classroom of children. The illustrations are so beautiful I can't help but think the children will be hypnotized by there alluring details. I'm not only purchasing a book for myself, but for my family and friends.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced Kindle e-read of this beautiful book.
