Another cute addition to the Phoebe and Her Unicorn series. This one is just as enjoyable as the rest. This is a must purchase for my library.

I would buy this sweet, charming and funny book for any child in my life. The illustrations are charming and the stories are cute. The author uses real language that will advance the vocabularies of her readers. And she includes a glossary, which I love. This is a wonderful little book!

Thank you to Netgalley, Dana Simpson and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A collection of comics featuring Pheobe, a little girl who speaks sarcasm fluently, and her best friend, Marigold Heavenly Nostrils, who is a unicorn. In this collection Phoebe tries to find a way to help Marigold not get stuck when she sees herself in a reflective surface, Marigold gives Phoebe temporary super powers for Halloween, and they have many other little adventures.

I love the witty banter between Phoebe and Marigold, or Phoebe and her parents, or Marigold and Phoebe’s parents. Lot’s of fun witty banter. There were less seasonal things in this collection and more just ordinary any day occurrences, which is totally fine. I felt like Phoebe and Dakota took a couple steps backward in their relationship. Definitely more enemies than friends in their frenemieship in this book, but they do seem to ebb and flow. Thus the frenemies status. The Halloween stretch of related comics and the superpowers that Marigold chose for Phoebe were my favorite parts of this book (though Phoebe and her Dad talking about the TV show that is obviously a rip off of My Little Pony and Transformers was close, and Phoebe talking to her teacher about why she didn’t get homework done because a book had totally taken her into its grasp was comic gold to this booklover/teacher/librarian). Another fun Phoebe and Marigold collection. We have faithful Phoebe and Marigold fans at our school from a huge age spread. It’s a great all ages comic. Highly recommended.

Another hysterical installment in the adventures of Phoebe and Marigold. I love that the humor is cross-generational, and can really be enjoyed by a wide range of readers. And Marigold's expressions continue to be my favorite thing!

Another winner from Dana Simpson. Phoebe and Marigold go through another school year including Halloween. Phoebe goes... as herself but with super powers. She also has a sleepover with Max and gets a bedtime story from her dad. Marigold deals with Phoebe having to do homework and Phoebe works through Marigold finding a new friend (but not a BEST friend.)

Four and a half stars
This book comes out October 8th

4.5*

Finished this in one sitting. I just love Phoebe and Marigold so much!

They make me happy, they have a beautiful friendship and they deal with bullies with kindness.
Great for kids, but as an adult, I can't help but appreciate a kid story about a little girl who likes girly things like unicorns, but who is also free to be herself without being overly conformed into that stereotype.

I have not kept up with this series in order (more like I read the ones that became available to me at any given time), but I don't believe that is necessary, though it is always fun to have new comics to read.

I adore the Phoebe and Her Unicorn series and this is just a delight to read, as usual. Phoebe and Marigold have some great adventures, learn things, and I love how easy they are to read. Such a fun escape and one that everyone will love. My kids love these books and will really enjoy this one too, and they're just as good to flip back on and reread as the old copies of Calvin and Hobbes. Loved it.

I’ve never heard of Phoebe and Her Unicorn series before, but now that I’ve read this, I’ll be looking forward to more. I love Phoebe and Marigold! They have great chemistry and rapport. At first I thought it’s another Calvin and Hobbes, but this is so much better as everyone can see Marigold the unicorn! Even though this series is targetted to children, me being a grown ass woman, didn’t stop me from loving it!

This is another delightful collection of the adventures of Phoebe and Marigold which will delight fans of any age. There is a small section near the end with definitions of words that might be difficult for younger readers. Highly recommend this series.

This is a new collection of the comic strip "Phoebe and Her Unicorn." Phoebe is a smart (and sometimes smart aleck girl and Marigold Heavenly Nostrils (yes, that's her name) is the narcissistic, but good-hearted, unicorn she rescued from staring at her reflection all day. Phoebe and Marigold tackle the usual kid problems (the classmate who thinks she's better than Phoebe, homework, boredom, friends) with humor and friendship. It's a cute strip and not just for little girls if you are whimsical enough.

This was such a cute book! There is enough clever humor to keep adults interested when reading this with their child. I haven't read the other collections in this series, but I definitely will go back and check them out! The formatting is easy to follow so readers new to comics should have no problems reading it. Phoebe is a smart, creative, and imaginative young girl who will appeal to the readers for whom this series was written. Creating visuals that are engaging and easy to follow is especially important in comics and I think this author gets them just right. Two thumbs up! A great read for any middle grade reader and one that I highly recommend to classroom teachers and librarians.

Phoebe and Marigold Heavenly Nostrils are in for a new set of adventures. With school, frenemies, family, and life to deal with, they address their issues with new spells and some new human skills. But, of course, things don’t always go as smoothly as they’d like. These sweet comics will make kids laugh as they work on inference and vocabulary. The glossary in the back will encourage them to look for words they don’t yet know. A sparkly addition for fans of the series, unicorns, or any elementary or middle school library.

This book is perfect for girls and boys who believe in Magic and loves Unicorns. This book will appeal to all ages from little who love to listen to their mothers read books and to girls who love to read on their own.

The story flows well engaging, the author writes without dumbing down the readers. The art or Illustrations are well done and fit well into the story.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Andrew McMeel Publishing for the advance copy of Dana Simpson The Unicorn Whisper

In this comic we follow Phoebe who is friends with a unicorn Marigold.
Their friendship is really amazing and inspiring.

Phoebe is a clever and creative character and Marigold is such a sweet and clever unicorn.

This comic is perfect for kids, but also for adults.
The humor in the book is contagious and makes you want more and more.
In addition, this comic also gives some important life lessons

The writing style was approachable and it was a really simple and quick read.

I really loved this comic and I want more of these two friends.

Thanks to the publishers for sharing this book. I love the whole series. It reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes, but I actually like it more, which is saying a lot since I was a big Calvin and Hobbes fan growing up. My full review appears on Weekend Notes.

I really enjoyed this collection. While the previous couple of ‘Phoebe and Her Unicorn’ books have still been fun to read, it also felt like I was largely reading about the same series of events in slightly different ways. This collection had a lot more variety and also introduced some new ideas and jokes to the usual reflection gazing and all round unicorn wonderment that makes this series both funny and heartwarming, with some enjoyable sarcasm and nerd points.

It’s a nice challenge, attempting to whittle down my numerous favourites and decide which ones to include here. We’ll start with an obvious favourite, when Phoebe’s love of reading overrides her need to do her homework. Phoebe also makes a necessary improvement to her bedtime story.

While Phoebe is working on her history report (and no, it’s not allowed to be about unicorns again) Marigold catches up with Todd. Phoebe considers what her Halloween costume will be this year, begins to figure out her superhero origin story and gradually learns what her superpowers are.

Later Phoebe comes down with a case of sparkle fever and Marigold is offended during a game of Monopoly. Phoebe has a nightmare and Marigold has a good dream. Both attend a goblin opera and Marigold visits Concertina Lovelyflank’s Sugar Boutique.

Marigold regales Phoebe with some unicorn lore, including what happens if a unicorn stays too long at the beach and what unicorns believed shooting stars were. Phoebe learns the truth about the Tooth Fairy.

Marigold is always ready to lend some magic to help out her best friend, although the results can be quite unexpected. I love that after all this time Marigold still has the ability to delight and surprise Phoebe (and myself). Despite all of the magic this series remains relatable and at its core lies a heartwarming interspecies friendship.

It’s lovely to take some time to remember the innocence of childhood and focus on the good, the funny and the magic that surrounds us, even if we aren’t lucky enough to have a unicorn as our best friend.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to love this graphic novel early.

Another adorable Phoebe and Unicorn book. I love the short stories and they are a huge hit with my students. I can't wait to bring this into my classroom. Each story brings me back to childhood. Phoebe has adventures with her unicorn but still has to navigate homework and other kids.

Everyone needs a little bit of sparkle in their lives. For Phoebe, that comes in the form of a unicorn best friend.

A continuation of the fantastic "Phoebe and Her Unicorn" series, Phoebe and Marigold spend the twilight days of summer together, plan epic Halloween costumes, see in the new year at the Goblin opera, and more. Come for the sparkles, stay for the lessons in friendship and finding the magic in every day with your best friend.

Yes, yes and yes! Phoebe and her Unicorn is the best series! I love each book that comes out, and am always surprised and delighted when reading the books. They just make me so happy.

In this, wait for Marigold's Halloween costume, Unicorn elections and Sparkle Fever!

Another great collection of Phoebe & Marigold adventures!
My daughter and I love reading this series together and I appreciate that there is humor and relatable situations for both children and adults. As always, the ongoing themes of friendship and marching to your own beat are prevalent and make this a series I enjoy coming back to every time.

Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review. The Unicorn Whisperer is scheduled for release October 8, 2019.

A talking unicorn and a girl named Phoebe are best friends. Both are learning of each others worlds. This is a graphic novel flows to it's own beat. I suppose you could say it was "all over the place" with no "real" storyline. But that's what made this graphic novel so enjoyable!

My daughters love this series and after reading this one, I can see why.

I loved it and everything about it.

Here's yet another enjoyable collection of comics about Phoebe and Marigold. All the things that make the previous collections are so enjoyable are here: the cultural references, the humour, the stories, the secondary characters... (I love Todd! Rar.)

I've read most of the series this year, and I think it's one of my favourite comics. Keep 'em coming, Dana Simpson!

Pheobe and Unicorn do it again in this tenth installment.
I have loved this sereis and this book doesnt disappoint. Pheobe continues to grow up and Unicorn helps her, in all her glory, of course!

Readers of this series will appreciate this edition and fly through it ans it chronicles another year.

I love this series so much and Phoebe and Marigold continue to surprise me. In this installment, we are ending summer, Phoebe is going back to school, Dakota is still being rude, and Marigold learns a lot of new things.

Phoebe is getting older and Marigold is still around but also starting to help some other kids. Marigold starts to overdo her magic a bit and Phoebe is concerns and they are both trying just to get through the school year.

I love their relationship so much, they are best friends, honest with each other, and also have other friends and that is ok, they are a great example of what a friendship should be and how to keep it strong. Every installment builds on this and I think it is a great message to share with middle grade readers. This series is adorable and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC, in exchange for an honest review. Dana Simpson, thank you for existing! Phoebe is essential to the lives of many of my patrons! We simply adore Phoebe here and I am so thank that we have an example for our imaginative, awkward, precocious girls out there, the girls that like to take chances and crave adventure! Cheers to Phoebe being a Unicorn Whisperer and bring on book 11 of the awesomeness that is Phoebe and Marigold!!!!

Another wonderful addition to the Unicorn Series. School life, and all it entails, serve as the next setting for Phoebe and her friend, Marigold Heavenly Nostrils, and the fun continues.
This series is so popular in my Media Center and, understandably so. Not only are the characters irresistible and the illustrations so vivid and fun, but the message conveyed in each book is so well done.

Oh, how I love Phoebe and Marigold. A better pair has never existed. My daughter and I love reading about their adventures. There is humor that an adult would find funny, and humor that is perfect for sharing with your children. It is masterfully written to appeal to so many tiers of audiences. I love the overarching themes of acceptance and loving yourself. It s such an important trait to help instill in kids. I definitely suggest picking up this series to read with your child, you will enjoy it.

This was the first Phoebe and Her Unicorn book and I really enjoyed it. They were fun snippets that really showed the relationship between these two characters. It was humorous and I recommend to those that enjoy humorous comic books.

Another awesomely cute book in the Phoebe and her Unicorn series by Dana Simpson. As always, we have a careful balance of cute and contemporary as Phoebe starts a new school year, celebrates Halloween, and endures a winter. Any real details would spoil the delight and enjoyment of finding out what The Unicorn Whisperer holds, but suffice it to say that if you like these comics, you definitely want to pick up this tenth volume and, if you haven’t read any Phoebe and her Unicorn yet, this is one you can easily pick up and enjoy. Also, these books are fun for both adults and kids to read. I can’t wait to see the next volume of Phoebe and her Unicorn and what Simpson has in store for readers next!
