The late Milo Speriglio was a private investigator who was considered among the best in his field. He devoted more than two decades to investigating the conflicting details surrounding Marilyn Monroe's death. Known as "investigator to the Hollywood stars," he had as clients over the years Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando. Among his celebrated cases were investigations into the deaths of Natalie Wood, George Reeves, and Jayne Mansfield. He appeared on numerous television and radio programs and was noted in Who's Who in California and Who's Who in Law Enforcement.

Adela Gregory, originally a premed student with aspirations to a career as a psychiatrist, became an amateur private eye when she encountered Speriglio. After becoming an associate of the late producer, writer, and director Bob Kelljan (and working on such shows as Charlie's Angels and Hill Street Blues) she joined the Masters Investigation Course at the world's oldest training school, Nick Harris Detectives. She graduated at the top of her class. Milo Speriglio invited her to pursue the Marilyn Monroe case with him. She spent the next five years doing just that. She remains devoted to discovering the truth about Marilyn Monroe's life and death.
