"Farmer Falgu returns, this time for an adventure in Allahabad at the Kumbh Mela festival. His wife and neighbors give him lots of suggestions of things to do, taste and see. But each time an opportunity presents itself to do, taste or see something wondrous, someone more unfortunate than him needs his help, and Farmer Falgu comes to their aid. It seems he will not experience any of the delights of the festival before his train departs for home. But when his train is delayed, he finds the time for all of the sights, sounds and tastes of Kumbh Mela. I love that the good hearted farmer once again shows that kindness is its own reward. The simple story is complemented by vivid, warm, deeply colored illustrations. Text appears in different colors and sizes, emphasizing the onomatopoeia and sensory experiences of Farmer Falgu.
