BRoken EXIT is an enjoyable read despite some pages that almost call a halt to the story. Discussions of political issues follows an exciting scenario only to stymie the reader. I read an ARC which was riddled with errors in grammar and punctuation Since the book was published in 2018, one would think those proofreading gaps had been tidied up. One would be wrong!
Once the prime minister is safe, he undergoes a change of heart on his policies. We also learn that a prominent figure in his government had betrayed him, but we never really see how that happened.
So, yes, I have some criticisms, but I did like the novel. It is well-paced, has good characters, and presents some credible threats. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.
Quite good. This may be a hidden gem since it's been out a while and not widely read. Palmer has a good imagination and writes well to boot. It's a bit dramatic but that's the nature of a thriller and the kept me engaged. It felt realistic and the characters felt genuine. A really solid first effort.
Thanks very much for the copy for review!!
