Four novellas set in the mid to late 1800's and each featuring a school teacher were well-crafted and heartwarming historical romances written by four different Christian authors. It highlighted how teachers can change the hearts and minds of students whether they are young or adult. Each story was encouraging as students and teachers learned to overcome obstacles. It also gave a glimpse back into how different teaching was in that era compared to today's teaching. My favorite among the stories was Lessons of the Heart by Terri J. Haynes, a new-to-me author. Adelene Burris finds herself teaching a regiment of colored troops to read in order to help them better learn all the marching drills. It showed the power teachers have to change both children and adult lives.

This is a collection of delightful and charming stories written by a group of four talented authors. Each book features a schoolteacher, but with different plots and heartwarming romances. I am glad I picked this one up because I know have 4 new authors to follow! Each one did a fantastic job with providing vivid descriptions and transporting me back in time so that I felt like I was experiencing the story for myself. The storylines were all artfully crafted with well defined characters. I really enjoyed this collection and look forward to reading more by these authors.
