Although I had trouble viewing on a digital device, I really enjoyed this grammar guide. As an aspiring writer, it’s nice to have a sheet to glance at when you question proper grammatical semantics. I think this is a neat info graph, and will use it on my devices regularly.

As a “grammar nerd”, I found this to be an awesome resource! The layout is user friendly that is minimalistic versus being cluttered and frustrating to someone reading this. I highly recommend this as a resource in a classroom, as it covers any question someone may have while writing.

I think anything that has 'infographic' or 'visual guide' is a hook for me. Having a graphic design background definitely helps, but I've come to accept the fact that unless the information is organized simply with colors, then my brain just shuts down. I really enjoyed this book (although I think it could be simplified further) and can see it as a resource for kids as well as adults inclusive of ESL learners.

Being bilingual with English and Spanish being my first languages, I've always had trouble learning, understanding, and applying Grammar and Punctuation rules. Reading craft books on the subject made me feel like I was reading Greek. I don't think I'll ever be able to recite rules despite consistently studying the subject since grade school and throughout college. The Infographic Guide to Grammar is exactly what my visual brain needs to understand important concepts in Grammar. And the bright and colorful mindmapping will assist me in understanding and applying concepts. I look forward to using this craft/reference book as a go-to with each book I write.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book. I will recommend to my writer friends.

A tight, informative guide to grammar in the English language. Being a native English speaker, I knew a lot of what was covered, but often instinctually, without realizing or even understanding the rules or names behind them. I am--obviously--not an expert in grammar or punctuation. But even from my limited point of view, I could tell that this book was genuinely GOOD: from the concise descriptions it gave, to the layout, feel, and general design of the book. Brightly colored with good fonts for the infographics, I found myself tearing through page after page, eager for the information this book provided me.

I feel like this book is a must-have for grammar enthusiasts, writers, educators, people learning English--for either the first time or even if they just want to hone their skills--and for people who are generally interested in language and grammar.

This book is stuffed full of additional tips, tricks, and information on the English language. I loved it.

A very visually appealing guide to grammar.

This would be a good staple reference book in any library collection.

The colors are vivid and eye catching and I think some of the pages would actually make good display posters for classrooms or libraries.

Will definitely be getting a copy for my library.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this sneak peak at the ARC.

As a non native English speaker and struggling sometimes with grammar, The Infographic Guide to Grammar is a good resource for me. Not only that it is interesting laid out with colourful charts to make the info really interesting. The Infographic Guide to Grammar is a resourceful guide for everyone from native to non-native English speakers, whether you're a librarian, a teacher or simply someone who loves to read, you ought to add this book in your collection.

Excellent reference book. Simple, clear and modern. English Grammar easily explained for new English speakers and those of us who weren’t paying attention at school. Would appeal to any age group.

I absolutely love infographics. As I am a visual learner, I think they are a great way to study. Saying that, I loved this edition. It is easy to follow, colours are very easy on the eyes, the graphics are very creative, and grammar rules are explained in a concise manner. A fantastic reference book to have.

This is a engaging and informative manual on grammar. It breaks up topics and faces common misconceptions head on. It also helps that it’s easy to read and in a chart like format.

The Infographic Guide to Grammar by Jara Kern is a great tool to have on your shelf or your Kindle for easy reference and a brush up on grammar and writing.

The book is a cool way for anyone to learn English language grammar rules or to brush up on those pesky rules or common grammar mistakes, such as when to use affect vs. effect.

The guide is simple and easy to use and has fun and interesting graphics and examples. The book provides in-depth information on parts of speech, sentence structure, punctuation, writing style, and common mistakes such as who and whom, double negatives, and commonly confused words. The book lays out the basic rules of grammar and provides tricks to help avoid common mistakes. One helpful source is the Subject-Verb Agreement Cheat Sheet and how to handle subjects and whether the verb is singular or plural and provides an example. For example, titles of books, movies, and songs are always singular.

As a self-professed grammar nerd of an adult, this book was kind of like throwing me a huge bag of candy.

But where it truly would have been amazingly helpful was in middle school, when we all (even the word geeks like me) dreaded the grammar component of English class because it was just so danged boring and hard to parse.

This book was exactly the opposite of that. It sounds ridiculous, as an adult, to rave about the bright colors used, but I really did find it visually helpful and I would imagine that it would also be more compelling for a younger audience.

The infographics aren’t just more fun to look at. They’re actually far more accessible and make relatively complex grammatical concepts easier to understand. The tips for avoiding common mistakes were similarly well-presented and easily applicable.

The information included runs from very basic to just moderately advanced and won’t solve your most complex AP style questions, but it’s wonderfully helpful as a quick reference guide and would be an ideal teaching tool for ESL or middle/high school age children.

An extremely informative and very enjoyable book, The Infographic Guide to Grammar delivers exactly as promised: grammar, from the basics to more advanced concepts, all in the form of simple, yet easy-to-comprehend infographics. A very helpful read for everyone, strongly recommended.

I was so excited to see this title on netgalley. I love infographics. An infographic guide to grammar?! Is it even possible? English is one of the hardest and most complicated languages to learn. All those exceptions to the rule! I've always felt that the best way to learn English is to grow up speaking English and reading books in English!

After looking through this book, I must say I am not disappointed. I love the bright vivid colors, creative fonts and graphics. I really appreciate the pages on terms used for parts of speech and sentence structures. Just the other day, I asked a friend, what do you call this type of phrase? I've always been aware that I am clueless about grammatical terms. I certainly need help there! The punctuation and writing styles chapters will help strengthen some of my weak points too.

I find the chapter on common mistakes a bit too basic for me, but it will certainly come in useful for others who want to stop making those errors.

I would highly recommend this book for those who already have at least a basic grasp of the language and want to brush up on their grammar.

Thank you Netgalley and Adams Media for this ARC. This is my honest review.

I really loved how this book uses infographics to break down grammar. I think my ESL students will be able to use it. I can also see middle school and high school students using it as a review, or to study for tests.

This is a really excellent guide, I didn't know what to expect going in but I was impressed! The layout is really visually interesting and I found it extremely easy to read through each page, even though the topic is generally not the most exciting. It didn't feel like a chore to get through at all.

I definitely recommend this book and will be referring to it myself often going forward. I think it would be especially valuable to non-native English learners.

Big thank you to the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

As a Teacher of English, I am always on the lookout for books that can explain grammar clearly to a wide variety of students. This book is visual, intuitive, and direct.
I love the straight forward explanations, the clean layout, and the ease of finding what you are looking for.
In several instances, I found charts or graphs that I have drawn on my board while trying to explain a concept to one of my students.
Not only will I buy a copy for my classroom library, but I will recommend it to others.

If you consider this book as one giant deck of flashcards to help you memorize the basics of grammar, then it’ll make you happy but if you’re looking for more depth and detailed information, you might be disappointed.
I really liked the idea behind it and enjoyed most of the chapters, however did not find something that I had not known before. It was too shallow for my taste and most subjects are left right on the surface. On the bright side, this colorful book grabs your attention from the first page wih beautifully designed pages, charts and diagrams that may help you declutter your mind, help organize your grammar knowledge if it’s all over the place and remember basic concepts of English language.
Overall a good reference book for grammar police and for those wishing to learn the basics without complicated details and includes good tips and tricks to improve writing skills and linguistic dexterity.

This is the perfect little grammar guide that would be enjoyable to carry around in my purse. I love the colorful font and pages, which makes the subject so much more enjoyable. This would be a great resource for my older middle school students to own. Thank you to Netgalley for the free ebook in exchange for an honest review.

So fun and helpful! I was born in Brazil and my native language is Portuguese. I've always loves English and even though I can speak and understand 100% I sometimes still struggle with grammar. This infographic is very helpful and helpful. It's fun, colorful, clear and easy to understand. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

This book is perfect for those that are still puzzling over "basic" grammar rules, those who consider themselves connoisseurs, and those learning the ins and outs of the English Language. With awesome graphics, quick tidbits of information, and bright colors, I flew through this grammar guide.

(Also if you're like me and have always struggled with parts of speech...this book is a LIFESAVER. Do I know what an adjective is? Am I an avid capitalizing junky? Yes. My favorite pages were the ones tell me what to and what not to capitalize. All those nasty exceptions that I can never keep straight are listed with easy to remember guidelines.)

The Infographic Guide to Grammar is a neat graphic primer on proper usage for English grammar. Due out 2nd Sept 2020 from Simon & Schuster on their Adams Media imprint, it's 128 pages and will be available in paperback and ebook formats.

When I was an admittedly nerdy kid, I used to love diagramming sentences, playing with writing exercises, keeping journals and all those sorts of assignments. I would have absolutely coveted this book. It's full of graphic charts, diagrams, colorful bullet lists, and punchy illustrations showing the parts of speech, sentence structure, punctuation, style, and common mistakes.

It's not really aimed particularly at school aged kids; I found quite a number of salient points which I had either forgotten or not learned the first time around. This is a comprehensive book, but not an encyclopedic one, so for all of the subjects it covers, it does so in a perfunctory (somewhat incomplete) manner. I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it as a useful desk reference, especially for visual learners. The book also includes a cross referenced index to access charts quickly and easily.

Four stars.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes

I am a language nerd and spent the entirety of my years in college studying all the languages available. And let me tell you that there is nothing that my heart loves more than a beautifully executed chart that is colorful and concise, but wonderfully informative. A chart to break down the ins and outs of a language rule and make it fun? I love them, I have handy little charts everywhere, but I've never really seen or utilized them for the languge that I speak natively, English.

Growing up, I never really got a clear education on all the many nuances and rules that make up a language. Obviously I was taught the big ones like nouns, verbs, commas, periods, ect. But things like participles and the passive voice, coordinate adjectives? Never in my young life. So learning the many, many ways to conjugate a verb in my first ever Latin class was a frightful experience and thus my love and reliance on a handy language chart was born. I copied SOO many rule charts out of my language textbooks for reference during language classes and The Inforgraphic Guide to Grammer is an entire book of them!

This book probably isn't everyone's cup of tea, but if you're a student of languages I think you will find this guide very interesting and that it'll help make connections across the langauges you're studying bring able to see the breakdown of your own native language(if yours is English). And even if you're not a student of modern or classical languages but still in schoo, I think it would be very handy when it comes to writing papers. The charts are very clear and informative and there are accompanying blurbs to the language rules to explain the dos and don'ts of the rules and to provide examples., which are incredibly helpful for a visual leaner.

This was or is very useful, helpful and an easy guide to everything you need to know about English grammar. Of course, for someone like me, it is always a work in progress for I always have run-on sentences or some form of sentence structure problem. But it is good to have an easy guide when I now can remember to use it. This would be good for anyone to carry in their backpacks, notebooks and is just easier to carry this around instead of books.

This is a very helpful guide, and I wish I'd had it when I was in school (though it would still be helpful now). Anyone who writes, whether for work, school, or pleasure, would benefit from having this book. Among (I still prefer using "amongst" over "among," but I'll use the word this guide prefers for this review) other things, I finally feel comfortable knowing when to use who/whom, and lay/lie! The visual layout and use of color were very helpful to me, as a visual learner, but might not appeal as much to non-visual learners. Definitely recommended!

This book is excellent for anyone looking to brush up on their grammar rules or for teachers looking for fun easy ways to explain certain rules. This book would also help English as a second language students. I enjoyed the way it was broken down into different subjects and the book flowed nicely without becoming too clunky and messy in reading. This is a quick read but a good book to have on hand if you are in love with grammar.

Helpful If You Write with Any Regularity

As an author, copyeditor, and voracious reader, I love this simple little infographic grammar guide. In fact, I might be recommending it to my authors! The book is broadly divided into five sections, starting with parts of speech and ending with common English mistakes. Other topics include sentence formation and writing style. Each infographic page is visually interesting and succinctly discusses its topic—whether that's adverbs, irregular verbs, or commonly misused phrases. As a self-proclaimed word nerd, I appreciated the author's way of summarizing information about each point of grammar, getting ideas across sparely but correctly… and even interestingly. Some pages even had some fun bonus information, like where the word or concept came from. Whether you are an author or happen to write a lot—whether for business or your own personal want or need—check out this easy-to-consume and very helpful book that will undoubtedly improve your writing.
