I was a little sceptical when I first began reading this book. The title was about continuous growth (which I was very interested in), but it started with Japanese martial arts (which I was not so interested in). However, it is very well-written with many wise sayings and quotes throughout giving thoughtful insights, so I am happy to recommend this to others.

The author begins with an explanation of "Do" or a way of life. In Japanese, the focus is on the way or path rather than the goal. With this background, the author then gets very practical and walks you through the ten steps of creating your Personal Strategy Canvas (TM). This involves reflecting on your strengths/weaknesses, values, purpose, vision priorities etc. In total there of 18 daily reflections.

Once you have completed your personal strategy canvas, the author then looks at how it applies at an organisational level. The idea is that your personal growth causes others around you to grow, producing synergy and a compounding effect where exponential results can happen.

He closes by reminding the reader that the goal is to get better day after day, to enjoy the process of continuous development, to give meaning not just your life but also serve your society.
