My five year old and I love the other Lola and Leo stories, so we were excited to receive an ARC from Netgalley for this one. This is the sequel to Lola Goes to the Library - she and her father read different books throughout the week, and Lola's life (and play) is enhanced by the literary magical adventures. It's a great way to encourage kids to read more, and my daughter especially liked the vivid illustrations.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC.

This was a great story! It is wonderful for children to learn about the library, how to use the library, and the wonderful stories that every child has access to. I love that it goes through the days of the week because as a Pre-K teacher that is something that we work on everyday. This is a fun way for everyone to practice and remember each day. The story is also a great way for kids to express themselves with creativity. This is a wonderful story to read to all children!

A very interested book about books. It shows how books open new horizons and paths for the young minds.
How reading can help elevate the imagination of young ones.
Books should be an essential part of a child's life .

My daughter LOVES the Lola books! They are just at her level to read to me, with only a couple words out of her reading skill set, and she feels more confident reading, which for her has been a struggle. The artwork is lovely and colorful without being overly brash, and the tale is fun and exciting for kids.

I love this sweet story about Lola and her dad! I can see toddlers and preschoolers loving this book and wanting to read it over and over again!

This is such a sweet board book with adorable characters and a very important message. Lola and her daddy go to the library together each Saturday where she gets to chose excellent books for the upcoming week. She also gets to spend quality daughter/daddy time with him.

Each night her daddy reads her one of her books and the next day Lola's imagination kicks into gear and she acts out the previous night's story. She dresses up and pretends to be a: fairy princess, pilot, tiger and builder, just to name a few. The last book is about a monster and the author unveils a pop-up character of Max from "Where the Wild Things Are" and the last line is: "What will Lola be on Friday?" Can you guess?

The acrylic illustrations are beautifully portrayed. I love the fact that visiting a library is a wonderful experience along with the fact that it's her daddy that takes her and reads to her each night. That is very heartwarming as the books enrich their relationship and bind them together more solidly. The book is the second in the series "Lola Reads". I highly recommend it.

I will preface this review by stating that I am a huge fan of the Lola books. The text in the book has a nice rhythm and is simple without being boring. This makes it a great read-aloud for 3-5 year olds. The illustrations are colorful yet gentle. Toddlers will enjoy seeing where Lola's imagination will take her next. Of course, as a children's librarian, I also appreciate a book that has the library in it.

I loved the Lola books before I read this one, but I love them all even more after reading it! This book is about Lola and her daddy. They read books together and then Lola brings the stories to life. There are very few books about children and dads, especially featuring people of color. This book is very needed to celebrate father-daughter relationships and that dads can have fun with books, too!

I can't believe I never heard of the Lola books before now!

Lola Loves Stories with Daddy is written in a way that's not only engaging for children but also adults. It teaches the importance of promoting curiosity, quality time, and family bonds. Every time Daddy brings Lola to check out a book at the library, she spends the next day acting out parts of the book. By reading these books with her, he's opening up a whole world of possibilities for her to explore.

I absolutely fell in love with this story and the gorgeous art style. I can't recommend this book enough!

I'm a huge Lola fan so am thrilled to see these board books.
Delightful story about Lola reading with her dad and then acting out her own adventures the next day connected with the stories. Terrific to see a book with dad sharing the reading time.
Simple text for toddlers and preschoolers to follow and the illustrations will pull them into the story.

This book showcases Lola and her father and the joy that they find in reading. Lola, who is either a Black or AfroLatina child, reads with her father and from each book, stretches her imagination to enact what she has read. This book reinforces the power of African American or Afro Latino dads an their daughters, and breaks the stereotype that these men do not read with their children. The pictures in this book are lovely and the message for little girls who like to read is empowering.

Originally published as a picture book, this board adaptation is a good option for libraries because it teaches the days of the week. Toddler Lola and her father visit the library on Saturdays, where they read together; each spread focuses on a new day where Lola reenacts one of the books checked out of the library. The full color illustrations depict the characters ethnically as African, and the artwork is vibrant and joyful. The final book hints at a classic picture book that Lola and her father read in time for Friday’s play.

I requested and received an e-ARC of this book from Anna McQuinn and Charlesbridge through NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was a fun book about all the possibilities that open when you read and use your imagination. I love that this was a dad reading to his child, quite often it is the mother depicted as the reader and I liked that Lola and her dad were creating these memories together.

I have always enjoyed the Lola series of books and enjoy that they are bringing the series to younger readers in board book form. Lola goes to the library with her daddy and checks out lots of books. Over the week Lola uses her imagination to pretend to do some of the things that they read about. An adorable story introducing Lola!

This book is another great addition to the Lola series. As in Lola at the Library, this latest title shows kids how books can lead to adventure. It also features the days of the week. On Saturday, Lola and her daddy visit the library and check out many books. Each night, her dad reads her a different book which inspires Lola to emulate some part of the book the next day. This would make a great read-aloud for toddlers through early childhood. It's a great book for working on prediction skills as well. #LolaLovesStorieswithDaddy #NetGalley

This was a really sweet book that my 4 year old granddaughter loved. She loved how Lola and her daddy read together every night. She kept telling me her and her daddy read at bedtime all the time. The next day Lola acted out characters from her stories, so she wanted to pretend to be a princess and a ballerina as well. We really enjoyed the illustrations. They were very active and we went back through the book and just talked about what was happening trying to remember what we read. It was a lot of fun. Definitely a winner for this younger age group. We also talked about visiting the library together and choosing a book. She wanted to go to the library after we finished reading, but they are closed right now due to the pandemic, so we decided we would visit grandma's bookshelves instead. I loved that it was a father/daughter reading together and always a mother.

This is a book in a series about Lola. There was a title published before this without the word daddy.
I loved reading about her adventures with a simple story for toddlers. See if your little one and play out their fantasy.

Cute story, sweet illustrations. Lola brings lots of books home from the library, and Daddy reads her a different story every night. The next day, the previous night's story inspires her play for the day. The story lists the days of the week, which is good for the intended audience, and shows how fun reading can be, how it fuels the imagination. At the end, Lola's Daddy reads her a story about monsters, with a visual nod to Where the Wild Things Are in the illustration, and the reader is invited to guess what Lola will pretend to be the next day, giving a bit of interactive fun to the story. The illustrations throughout are adorable, and add extra charm to the text. An engaging addition to the series.

This was the most delightful board book!! I loved that it depicted a father and daughter spending quality time together reading. Also the main characters in this book were POC. It shows the importance of reading to your children and the journey that reading takes them on.

The Lola series always ends up being a great edition to any library. I particularly enjoyed this installment! I loved how simple the storyline was and how much it communicated at the same time. The imaginative play element is quite wonderful and encourages young readers to use books and stories in their own play. The repeated activity of Lola's dad reading to her is a great edition to the book as it might encourage caregivers to do the same. I also really enjoyed the open ending to the book which encourages discussion between child and caregivers. As with all the Lola books the art enhanced the expierence.
