This book is so cute and heart-warming. Sunny the Bunny is afraid of new things and doesn't want to go to camp.
I had a bunny once. His name was Cesare and he was so shy.. I imagine Sunny just like him, shy and insecure and afraid of new things.
I'm sure little readers will love this book! And they will learn to be fearless because everything new hide fun and adventure.

When I was a kid, I was scared when I went to camp. I, of course, ended up having a great time. This book is the perfect book to read to kids who have that same fear- it shows how much fun camp can be! From an adult perspective, I really enjoyed the flow of the book. Sunny the bunny goes to camp is a book that I must read to the kids in my life.

Sunny the Bunny is an adorable character . In this short story Sunny goes to camp .It is a story about Sunny and how at first Sunny is a bit nervous to go to camp and the book talks about how Sunny gets on the bus and how Sunny wants to be with her mom and dad, but instead is at camp. However, Sunny describes the day at camp and has a realization it isn't so bad. This is a cute read and I loved the rhyming and flow of it. It would be great to give as a gift to a young child learning to read. Thank you!

Thank you Greenleaf Book Group & NetGalley for the a chance to review this book.

Sunny the Bunny is absolutely adorable. It’s about a bunny who goes to camp. Sunny the Bunny does have hesitations and worries, but they end up enjoying trying the new things at camp.

The Yoga class was probably my favorite illustration. I enjoyed being able to see the different activities Sunny got to do, and how they interacted with their new friends.

I liked the rhyme scheme and the illustrations a lot. It was a very cute book. I truly did not find anything wrong with the book at all. It’s one of the books I would probably end up reading four times in a row before bedtime and not get tired of it.

Bunny is nervous about going to sleepaway camp. There are fears associated with trying new things, being away from home, not making friends, and trying new things. Bunny quickly learns that by embracing camp culture, you will fit in, learn new things, and often find fun and success.

This was SUPER cute and perfect if your little one is anxious or scared about going away to camp. There are tons of positive messages throughout including wearing your seatbelt, personal hygiene, healthy snacks, staying active through sports and exercise.

As a camper myself, this story resonated with me and would definitely be a great message for any future campers.

DELIGHTFUL! And a PERFECT book for going to camp, sleepaway camp or day camp, even a new childcare daycare place!

This is a wonderful story about a bunny going away to camp facing fear of leaving home for an overnight stay away from mom and dad for the first time. The text is told in charming rhyme, and it would be so incredibly easy to make a song of it and continue the fun for the child! It could also be a rap, haha!

I didn't expect to be so entertained by this book. I had a child that clung to me like a baby koala at every new foray into the world. How I wish I'd had this book then to make something fun of the discomfort and show how the feelings change with the adventures had! I love how this book progresses from fear to some curiosity to complete child adventurous fun easily all in the span of a few pages. The storyline is smooth, no hard turns, and you can feel the sing-song nature of it, allowing a child to memorize some or many of the words as a personal mantra or personal anthem, singing a new way of feeling and being, bold and brave and the rewards that come.

"Now we are zip-lining
over the trees.
My fluff is all messy
because of the breeze."

Haha! How cute is this, messy fluff?! I love it.

Fantastic book! Highly recommended for many ages, from toddler on up, to help with needing to be away from home for hours or days. Even older kids can use this type of help once in a while. Beautiful find!

Sunny the Bunny leaves for camp and she is very sad as she will miss her parents and all that she knows. What she finds out, that there is so much to learn and do. She discovers new things to do like zip lining, swimming with friends, winning a talent contents. She has so much fun that she is sad to leave on her last day.

If you have high hopes for your child to do camp in the near future. This is a great resource to talk about camp. I was a camp leader for 6th graders and even they miss their parents on the first day. Camp is such a great way to build up your children and finding the best camp that inspires that will be the greatest gift you can give your kids. A memory that will be with them for a life time.

A Special Thank you to Greenleaf Book Press and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review

Sunny the Bunny: Goes to Camp by Jace Higgins and Paige Bekish is a sweet, little children's book!

The illustrations are absoultely adorable! The cover, the pictures, ugh! All of it is just so sweet and cartoon-y! I love one of the first pages with little ballerina bunnies! It's so adorable!

Onto the story itself:

Sunny is a cute bunny who likes to read and bake. Her Mom signed her up for summer camp, which she isn't too happy about. When she gets there, even though it's super exciting she still wants to go home. Slowly, Sunny the Bunny learns to love camp.

I think this is a great book to introduce to kids who are going to camp for the first time! It shows all the fun a kid can have at camp - games, campfires, sports and friendships! It's an absolutely cute and adorable way to bring this subject up. As someone who used to work in camps and with camps, I think this would be excellent for parents to read to first time campers and for counsellors to read to their young campers!

Three out of five stars!

Having recently been to a camp, we could share the experiences of Sunny the Bunny. Especially the camp counselors, stage shows. Cute illustrations. Sunny's parents did find a very good camp with such variety of activities.

Sunny the Bunny chronicles the journey of a young bunny who is going to a sleep-away camp for the first time. Despite her initial anxieties and homesickness, Sunny warms up to camp life, makes some new friends, and has a great time!

This book was ADORABLE. All of the animals looked like stuffed toys that would jump right off the page for a cuddly story time. I enjoyed the simplistic yet cute illustrations (especially the one of Sunny while zip lining, that made me giggle).

I also thought that the storyline was just the right amount of educational and fun for young readers who may be experiencing anxiety about being away from home for the first time. Sunny admits that at first she is scared and not excited about going to camp, but once there she realizes how much fun all of the activities and other animals are. At the end, she even says how much she is looking forward to going next year! Told with an endearing rhyme scheme, this is the perfect children's book!

I would definitely recommend this book if you have a child who is anxious about trying new things, or scared of being away from home. Super cute!

I had the opportunity to read and review Sunny the Bunny goes to Camp for Netgalley. My niece, nephew, and I read this adorable rhyming story about a bunny’s first trip to summer camp. It’s a great introduction to the idea of summer camp for kids, and paints a very fun and magical image. Sunny the Bunny had a few worries about going away to camp, but she was brave and learned how much fun new experiences can be. The quick rhythm and smooth flow of the rhymes helped to keep the kids engaged and excited. This is definitely a book the kids will want to read again, and as an adult I would enjoy reading it to them as well.

Texas teen authors! The illustrations were simple and colorful. They wouldn't distract an elementary reader. The text is easy to read. I liked the text being on different colored backgrounds.

We follow Sunny the Bunny as she faces the fear of going to summer camp. Will she be able to overcome her fear of something new? Will she be able to make friends?

My students will love that it's written in rhyme!!

An adorable book that I think children of all ages will enjoy. My favorite part of the book was the lesson that the main character, Sunny the Bunny learned, It’s okay to be nervous when trying something new. Sunny very hesitant to attend camp for the first time ends of up having an absolute blast. Great book to share at the beginning of the school year.

A young bunny is told that she was going to go to summer camp...this terrified her because she is not comfortable in new situations. .

A wonderful story that young, shy children can relate to...how scary it is to be "outside one's comfort zone."

New Things Can Be Fun

This is a sweet story of a little bunny who is afraid to try unfamiliar things and is particularly scared to be going away to summer camp. But the little bunny goes anyway, and of course, has a marvelous time. The book details the various activities at the camp and highlights Sunny and her new friends, like the lion and panda. The illustrations are relatively simple with little detail. The only one that was really hard for me to see was Sunny's father. The illustrator made the bunny so dark (and all details) that I couldn't see any distinguishing features on the PDF ARC copy that I received. One illustration almost made me laugh out loud. Sunny and friends are doing some dancing on Hawaiian night wearing grass skirts. The panda even has a coconut shell bra! There are other bits of humor throughout that the adults will probably appreciate more than the child, like the page with the campers doing yoga. In the text, it says they are doing the little puppy pose when they are doing downward-facing dog. Very cute. If you have a child who has difficulty trying new things or is afraid of going to summer camp, this book would be the perfect gateway to help discuss the fear or even show the kinds of fun camp activities that they might have to look forward to.

Sunny the Bunny is a shy creature who doesn't really like to try new things. Her mother has signed her up for summer camp, and while she is very timid about going, Sunny finds that new things, like summer camp, can be fun. A sweet story with likable characters and adorable illustrations.

This is such a sweet book that touches on the anxiety and nervousness that transpires that one experiences as a child on the way to something unfamiliar.
