Oh my God this book is the absolute most adorable thing I've ever read - it's just a series of heartwarming comics about the antics of a cat named Frankie and her two humans. It's so cute and wholesome and wonderful - I literally stopped everything I was doing and tore through the whole thing in a matter of minutes. If you (like me) love cats, or have ever had a cat, or are a human being with a soul who likes cuteness, then you will love Frankie Comics. BRB gonna run home and cuddle both of my cats.
As a 'Cat Mum' I loved this! A few times I had to pull my partner across and read a certain page that related to our cat, Snowy. A few pages made me laugh out loud too, which really made me want to continue reading and see what antics Frankie got into. The artwork for this graphic novel was very in keeping with certain comics I persoanlly read and I found the whole comic book to be very inspired by the Garfield comics. I would love to read more of Frankie's adventures and hope that these comics continue.
I love this comic book perrrrfect for cat owners or the cats that own them. It is funny and cute. In the comics so broken up in to sections that could be read individually or all together.
Frankie Comics is a very cute heart warming comic about a wife, her husband and a kitten. We follow their journey with laughs and love. I do not read many comics, but this one is a must read for cat lovers. It contains cute drawings and real life cat lover humor. Look forward to reading more by this author, Rachel Dukes.
This was the most adorable series of comics. I have never heard of the web comic before, so it was all entirely new to me. The art was really cute, and a lot of the content made me laugh as it captures the personality of cats so perfectly. I liked that there was a good mix of some silly unrealistic panels, and genuine interactions with Frankie. Really sweet and great to put a smile on any cat owners face.
I loved this so much! First of all the art style is adorable. The images are clear and the colours are well chosen so the images are well to look at and no confusion is caused. The story line is very relatable to any pet owner. Getting a new pet with all the excitement around it. Getting it a bed, the food, having to bathe it, And many more scenarios. I loved that this comic wasn't written in one long plotline but rather short scenarios but together still making a story, I thought it was very clever. I loved Frankie and 10/10 I would get a cat like him (If I could choose a cats personality). I think many people who have or have owned a cat will probably get to relate to a lot of the scenarios in this book and I think that's cute. I loved it and I would definitely read more volumes if there were more :D
This is a comic collection about a couple who adopt a lost cat. Their lives are more chaotic and more full of warmth once the cat, Frankie, comes into their lives. It's an adorable collection and I am going to be recommending it to my students for sure!
Frankie Comics is your go to comics for relatable everyday life with a pet. As a fur aunt, I found every single scenario on point and it doesn't matter if you have a dog or a cat, for this book speaks for both. This comics is about Frankie and how the furrents came across such a sweet cat and kept her until they became a family. Everyday life with a baby that keeps your stress at bay always gives you something to remember about when reminiscing about the past and I love that it was well documented in this comics. I loved reading this book and woukd recommend it to everyone who just want a fluffy and light read that would make you 'awwwww' with adoration.
The cutest, most iconic comic series in the 21st century. I adore Frankie Comics, thank you Rachel Dukes. Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

"Frankie Comics" is very sweet and, even if you aren't a cat lover, you will fall in love with the story of Frankie and her two humans!! Reading these comics you will make you feel relaxed, happy and warm. It's a perfect choice to read with your pet by your side. #FrankieComics #NetGalley *Thanks to NetGalley and Oni Press for providing me with an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review.*
Okay, this is freakin' adorable. Rachel Dukes' illustrations are so vibrant and light-hearted. They really bring to life the simple moments of having a pet-buddy that bring so much joy! I personally have a dog and have never had a cat as a pet, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not just for cat-owners! Although I do think this would be a perfect gift for a cat-owner who also loves comics and graphic novels.
An absolutely adorable read which I will be buying for many of my cat-loving friends when it is released! Absolutely love it!
I love comics that are about cats and this was no exception. This was funny and so relatable! I love reading about the daily shenanigans of cats and how dramatic they are and this is a great book especially if you need a book to cheer you up. The art is really great and I love how adorable the cat is. I definitely recommend this book for all cat lovers!
As an owner of a very crazy cat, I was eager to pick up this one and read about the adventures of another cat. Sure, a lot of the situations are pretty normal for most cats and examples of everyday life with a cat, but with the adorable art and full personality of Frankie, it was a joy to read. Frankie's antics are hilarious and heartwarming as she takes over her human's lives. Anyone who loves cats or lives with cats will probably identify with a number of these comics. They are entertaining, quirky and full of love.
I really loved this storyline. It had me giggling and also relating to this story a lot because I own 4 cats. The artwork was so cute. This is well worth a read and gets a 5 star from me.
Ever had one of those stressful days where you just want a fluffy story to end the day on? I had one of those days, and wanted a light read to occupy me. I saw this little book, and boy did it deliver on the fluffiness and cuteness. Not only was it cute, but it was funny, and lighthearted. It follows a couple’s everyday adventures with their new cat, Frankie, who is mischievous and loveable. It’s such an adorable read, with incredible and colourful art.
If you have a cat, or love animals, then Rachel Dukes' Frankie Comics will be extremely relatable. Adorable Frankie shows up on their doorstop and even though they're allergic, Rachel has Frankie come in. What is supposed to be for 30 minutes (a short visit) turns into forever. Rachel's art is wonderfully expressive. These slice of life comics have titles for each collection. Some stories span two pages or more, some are told on a single page, and range from Frankie getting a bath to finding a backpack more comfortable to sleep on than their new bed. Very entertaining collection.
It's been a while since I read a good cute comic like this! This comic tells the story of a cat named Frankie and how he and his owners came to love him and create memories with him.
A very charming and cute collection of comics about the cat Frankie and her family. I thought that this was so fun and cute. I really enjoyed reading the comics and the everyday shenanigans of Frankie. The art style is fun and this was an overall fun read!
Frankie is so cute! This collection of comics is an accurate depiction of what daily life is like with a cat. The art is good, and the story is easy to follow.
To no one's surprise, this was absolutely adorable! I follow Frankie (and her humans) on Instagram and was ecstatic to find out that I can see even more of her. I can't wait for another book, but until then I'll subsist on rereading.
Cute, fun, fast, cat lovers will simply love Frankie (and probably identify in many situations) I recommend for all ages, in addition to the drawings being super cute, I laughed a lot! I will definitely follow the author!
In Frankie Comics, we’re given the gift of cat love with this collection of adorable comics. Bite-Sized Summary Frankie Comics originated as a webcomic and earned its very own book! In this full color cat-extravaganza, we meet Frankie, an adorable cat doing its cat thing. Rachel Dukes brings us into their everyday life and struggles as a cat owner. This comic doubles as encouragement to adopt a cat and to not believe the myths that revolve around them. Going In Expectations Going into Frankie Comics, I wasn’t expecting much. I was thinking it would be a cute comic about the day in the life of a cat owner, and that’s exactly what I happened to get… plus more. Raves & Critiques Let’s start with the illustrations. Top notch. I’ll definitely be seeking out more work by Rachel Dukes, just for their drawing style alone. They clearly have a great sense of humor, so they make well-rounded comics, but their drawing style is fabulous! It’s very cartoon-y, but has just enough detail to not feel childish. I also want to talk about the representation for a second here. The main character, which I presume to be Rachel, doesn’t look like most comic characters I’ve been seeing, which is a breath of fresh air. There’s a couple of pages that show armpit hair and non-shaved legs, as well as this amazing haircut, which I wish I could pull off. I loved that this comic normalized this, rather than circulated around it… if that makes sense. This comic was about Frankie and I loved that Frankie’s humans were considered secondary characters. I don’t know if this is necessarily a spoiler, but beware of this paragraph, just in case. There’s a segment where Rachel finds themself dealing with sleep paralysis. I’ve never personally had it, but I’ve talked to a few people who have. They describe it as terrifying, while Rachel’s experience seems more tedious than scary. I would want to know if Rachel suffers with sleep paralysis and has tedious experiences with it, because I would find that very interesting. Frankie Comics is written as a series of individual segments, rather than a chronological story. Sometimes these types of comics throw me off because I’m a sucker for story-driven comics, but I really loved this style and it possesses a powerful message! At the end of the comic, Rachel talks about taking care of a cat and where to adopt one. She mentions cat cafes, which I had no idea were a thing. Google them and I am sure you have some near you! I had five near me and I had no clue. Ultimately, I think Rachel’s core message is to show people that cats aren’t these aloof creatures who don’t care about you. They show affection and deserve to be adopted. Reason for Rating ~ Should You Read It? Frankie Comics is an adorable comic about showing love for cats. It’s been recommended that every cat owner read this, and I agree! It reminds me of Rascal, which is another comic about a cat done in a similar style. I recommend this for fans of light and humorous comics, regardless if you’re a cat owner or not. It’s relatable even if you know someone with a cat. It’s a super quick read (I read it in forty minutes and I was going slow), so it’s perfect for a before-bed pick-me-up.
