The Yes Factor is told in dual POV between Bex and Liv, who are two longtime friends.

Bex is divorced and a single mom living in LA. Liv is married and living in London. Liv's marriage is interesting and we don't get much insight into her marriage stuff until later in the book. But her husband is well to do and Liv has a "reputation" to uphold as one of the wives in his company. Honestly, it sounded exhausting even from the few pages we glean about him and his colleagues and their wives.

Bex is tired and done with online dating. Liv decides to take a spontaneous trip to LA to visit Bex and starts The Yes Factor, which means Bex needs to say yes to dates and yes to new adventures.

What ends up happening is a series of very awkward, yet hilarious, events that made me giggle out loud a few times. They got themselves into some pretty interesting situations, which are mainly Liv's fault.

Liv is definitely over the top and got pretty obnoxious for a while. There is a reason though for her over the top behavior and it makes more sense once we get further into the book. I definitely feel like I"m much more Bex in terms of relating to the characters.

I loved their friendship antics and reading this made me miss some of the silly things I did with my friends when I was younger.

This is a fun read that gave me a few laugh out loud moments and I found myself enjoying this one quite a bit!

4.5 Stars for The Yes Factor
Erin Spence and Emma Sabler are relatively new to me but as soon as I saw the blurb for The Yes Factor I knew it was a book I would love and I wasn’t disappointed because I really enjoyed Bex and Liv’s story. This is a book that’s based on friendship even when that friend lives on the other side of the world, it’s funny, entertaining, charming and full of witty banter
Bex is a divorced mother and is busy trying to keep her and her teenage daughters life on track. When her best friend Liv flys in for a visit life is about to get very interesting because Liv is adamant it’s time for Bex to start dating again......
I loved the friendship this pair shared even when they were living so far apart, it’s something I can relate to because I moved from the UK to Australia a few years ago leaving friends behind. It really is true that you don’t need to live in each other’s pockets to still be best friends. This book has it all, it’s one of those books that has you smiling laughing and even shedding a few tears. I found myself engrossed in Bex and Liv’s story so much so I even found myself cheering them on with a glass of wine. What I did find hard to believe was this was the first book these authors have written together and I really hope they carry on giving us enjoyment from their delightful words.

More adventures of Liv and Bex please! I thoroughly enjoyed reading their tales of friendship as they took on LA while determined to be their best self. As a woman around their age, I could identify the desire to reclaim identity and find whom I am again. We as women have lost herself in relationships and Bex and Liv took this head on. By saying yes, they stepped out of their comfort zone and in doing so, pursued what they actually wanted. Motivating!

Wow this book I devoured in less than a day. I loved the two protagonists Bex and Liv and how the story switched between their perspectives. I was intrigued from the beginning reading the short blurb about the Yes factor and the story did not disappoint.

This book had me laughing, crying and routing for both of these best friends. I loved how it was set with characters in their upper 30s so different from the books I have read so far this year and I appreciate that. I felt like I was living on their journey and routing for them every step of the way. This book I will definitely be recommending and using for our monthly book club with friends. Thank you netgalley and publisher for this advanced read. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

4 star Review The Yes Factor by Erin Spencer & Emma Sabler

When I read the blurb for this one, I jumped at the chance to read and review. For a number of reasons this book appealed to me and it was an entertaining story with characters that were easy to relate too. Underlying this story is a deep and abiding friendship between Bex, a divorced mother and her best friend Liv.They may live on opposite sides of the world but their friendship has remained, maybe not as strong as it was but still there.

What’s a woman to do when she doesn't want to face the reality of her own life? That to me is the situation that Liv finds herself in when she flies in to visit Bex and drag her divorced friend into the dating scene again.

Both Liv and Bex push each other to be the best that they can be and I loved that about their friendship. Their camaraderie and banter is funny, as well as honest and it is obvious that they love one another, accepting each others flaws and overcoming their arguments. It is also a story of looking deep inside oneself and coming to terms with what they discover.

I was surprised to learn that this is their debut collaboration as the story flowed well and I have no idea who wrote what or where one author finished and the other took over. The fact that the characters are more mature than a lot of other books just added to my enjoyment. I also have to say it also made me very happy that I am no longer in the dating scene.

This was a realistic look at friendship and there were times that I laughed, times that I cried and times I absolutely wanted a glass of wine or two.

Please tell me there is a book 2 of The Yes Factor in the making?!! Also, how cute is this cover ?!⁣

This book had some mixed reviews. People seem to think you can’t call someone your best friend if you don’t tell them everything. I personally feel like sometimes if you don’t want to come to terms with how bad something is in your life, you may keep it from your best friend because you aren’t ready to hear what you already know. Your best friend will see right through your soul.⁣

You know your best friend will still love you for decisions you may have made, that may or may not be great decisions but you aren’t ready to look your decision in the eye. I feel that was probably how Liv felt in this story. She knew Bex would call her bluff, so she tried to put her focus into getting Bex out of her own head and avoided dealing with her own issues. ⁣

Yes Factor was such a cute rom com about two best friends. Bex lives in LA while Liv lives in London. They grew up together and were basically sisters until getting married and moving away from each other changed things for them.⁣

Bex is divorced with a thirteen year old daughter, too afraid to move on with living, staying stuck and refusing to put herself out there.⁣

Liv is living a ritzy life in London with her successful lawyer husband who is more a traveling ghost husband, than an attentive, loving husband.⁣

Liv decides to jump on a plane to go try and get Bex out of her rut and get her to say “yes” and less saying “no.” They repair their friendship that has been put on the back burner, and also go through some self discovery of their own.⁣

Both of these women have such a fierce, tight knit friendship and push each other to the edge; but are always there to catch each other. Their banter is too funny and their love for each other, just makes you want to be part of their friendship. ⁣

This was a beautiful story of love, friendship, self discovery, and learning to find self love and self care.⁣

I’m giving this 4⭐️ solely because with it ending how it did, there NEEDS to be a second book, because I need to know what comes next for Liv and Bex. 💕⁣
