Description

This title is part of 2021 Christmas in July celebration!

The Buchanan sisters all share special childhood memories of their Aunt Sassy's beloved Juniper Inn. There, they frolicked in the snow, baked sugar cookies, and celebrated the town's annual Christmas extravaganza. They haven't been back to Colorado in nearly fifteen years, but when their aunt invites them for one last Christmas, they can't say no . . .

With her ex-husband whisking her children away for the holiday, Dahlia decides it's time to do something for herself. Juniper Springs is just as beautiful as she remembers, but it's also full of surprises -- including the town's handsome doctor, who makes her feel like herself again for the first time in years.

To the outside world, baker Magnolia has the ideal marriage. Only the pain and sorrow of infertility have strained her relationship with her husband, perhaps beyond repair. But a holiday miracle is about to change her life.

After a whirlwind romance, youngest sister Rose is about to be married, but as the wedding draws near, she's unsettled by her fiancé's expectations that she become a society wife. Spending Christmas with her family could be a necessary reality check -- or the beginning of a brand-new happily ever after.

Thanks to the strength of their sisterhood, some mistletoe, and the love of their Aunt Sassy, the Buchanan sisters will discover what it is they truly want this Christmas.

Richardson is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I discovered her books about a year ago. Home for the Holidays brings sisters Dahlia, Magnolia, and Rose to Colorado to reunite with their aunt. As girls they spent a lot of time there, but a rift between their mothe ansd aunt ended their visits. The author develops each sister's stories as they help revamp the inn for their aunt. The men in the town are appealing. One sister gets a special holiday surprise. It's a great holiday read.

Home for the Holidays by Sara Richardson, published by Forever / Grant Central Publishing, is a stand- alone, sweet story about three sisters and their last christmas together.
This is a new to me author and I'm happy I gave the book a try. I enjoyed reading this slow burn, loved learning more about Dahlia, Magnolia and Rose and their lives before their lives changing.
I liked the storyline and the beautiful writing right alongside with the beautiful words and the feels this story gave me. 4,5 stars.

Home for the Holidays is a beautifully written holiday romance about three sisters traveling to Colorado to spend one last Christmas with their Aunt Sassy at the Juniper Inn in Colorado. Each sister is unique and have their own lives but put everything aside to reunite for a Christmas to remember.

Dahlia, Magnolia, and Rose are sisters that always remember spending time with their Aunt Sassy in Colorado. When they were younger, each Christmas was spent putting up decorations, baking Christmas cookies, and enjoying family time in Colorado. As they got older and created their own lives, those memories are just that. They miss being together in one place and want that feeling of joy and hope back.

When Aunt Sassy sends them all a letter asking them to return to the Juniper Inn, they can't say no. They think their aunt's health is declining and want to make this Christmas count. Each sister is going through their own personal struggles and also uses this trip to heal and escape. Dahlia has always put her kids first and wants to do something for herself again. Magnolia is struggling with infertility and the toll it is taking on her marriage. Rose needs a break from always trying to play the perfect fiance.

I really liked that Sara Richardson wrote from the perspective of each sister. It allowed me to understand them all and appreciate their different personalities. Although I enjoyed the perspectives, I admit that it was a little difficult to follow in the beginning as I was trying to keep up with relationships. But this didn't take away from me being able to connect to the story. Aunt Sassy helped the whole story come together. She is funny, wise, and makes a good matchmaker. I felt all the love she has for all the girls and having them all together again brought her so much joy.

I give Home for the Holidays 4 stars. It is a Christmas romance all about family. The three Buchanan sisters are reminded of the importance of family and what good can come from allowing oneself to be vulnerable. Sara Richardson gave this story so much heart with her endearing characters and charming setting.

Home for the Holidays is the family Christmas story we all have been needing!

3 sisters, 3 different situation, 3 different lives coming together to help their aunt one more time at their family Inn! As Dahlia, Rose and Magnolia come to a cross roads in their life, their aunt sends a letter asking for each girl to come visit her for one last Christmas!

Each sister is going through a mess of their own and when they can’t agree or even see the light at the end of the tunnel new friends and past friends all come together to help bring the Christmas extravaganza to life once more and each girl starts to believe in the magic of Christmas once more!

I loved how this story really focused on the beauty of family especially the bond of sisters but most importantly I love that Richardson really focused on self love! Each sister as they faced a new path struggled with where they were and what they needed to do but once they realized their dreams and realized who they were life started to fall into place! The story focused on making sure that no matter what is going on in life to take time to evaluate and make sure you’re you! Even when you feel it’s too late it never is too late to reconnect with yourself and those around you that you truly love!

It’s the feel good novel of the season and one that will definitely warm the soul this holiday season!

Heartwarming, engaging, and positively beguiling!

Home for the Holidays is a beautifully written, absorbing story that sweeps you away to the beautiful mountains of Colorado in winter and immerses you into the lives of the Buchanan family as they confront the past, accept the things they cannot change, forgive, accept, repair fractured relationships, take chances, move on, and embrace the future.

The writing is effortless and polished. The characterization is spot on with a whole slew of characters that are multi-layered, genuine, compassionate, and endearing. And the plot, including all the subplots, skillfully intertwines and unravels into a delightfully touching tale about life, love, loss, marriage, parenthood, family, secrets, friendship, happiness, self-discovery, romance, and the special bonds between sisters.

Home for the Holidays is without a doubt the perfect festive read that not only highlights the magic of the holidays but reminds us to always live life to the fullest and surround ourselves with those we love.

I am a big fan of Christmas/holiday reads. Even in the heat of summer, I enjoy the temporary escape to one of the happiest times of the year. Home for the Holidays is my first Christmas read for 2020. With all the craziness of this year so far, I cannot think of any year I’ve needed my Holiday fix more.

This beautiful story is about the love of three Buchanan sisters. The sisters have been apart for many years, living in different states, and reunite at the request of their Aunt for one more special Christmas at her Colorado Inn. Each of the sisters is experiencing change and challenge in their lives. Dahlia is recently divorced, and her ex-husband has taken their children to Paris for the holidays along with his new, much younger girlfriend. Magnolia has experienced many miscarriages over the recent years and desperately wants a child. Her husband has said that the expense, both monetarily and psychologically, is too great to try again. Rose is the youngest sister and is engaged to marry into one of the most well to do families in her state. She’s unsure if she is making a mistake marrying into this family given that her fiancé’s mother is overbearing and demanding. Will fond memories of childhood Christmases at the Inn, and the joy of reuniting, be just what the sisters need to provide them with clarity about their futures?

I really enjoyed this holiday read. The book flowed effortlessly and the characters were all relatable and well-developed. I could feel the love between the sisters as well as their appreciation of the memories that they had created with one another in their earlier years. I also recognized the level of self-reflection each of the women experienced during their stay. While I enjoyed the moments of romance, I appreciated that this was not the focus of the book. It is my hope that Home for the Holidays will become the first in a series, as I finished the book wanting more.

Thanks to Netgalley and Forever/Grand Central Publishing for the ARC of this book in exchange for the honest review provided here.

Oh, I sure do love a heartwarming holiday story. Add in a storyline with sisters, returning home, family drama & some secrets & I am all in.

One of my favorite holiday books is The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Moraga It is very challenging for me to look at this cover & read the synopsis & not try to compare Home for the Holidays with my believed Christmas Sisters. I will do my best!

The bottom line is I did enjoy this book. Its quick, heartwarming, centers around family & the struggles each sister is facing. I will say the storylines are mostly predictable. While reading it, I did get cozy holiday vibes & I could easily picture the inn, the town & each character.

Read this if you're a fan of Hallmark Movies, want to get into the holiday spirit &/or need to escape for a bit.

I love those Christmas books that are so cozy and warm it’s like being wrapped up in Grandmas afghan. 🎄Home For The Holidays was no exception! It was cozy, feel good, heartwarming, and positively charming! 🎄This is the tale of 3 sisters as they reunite for Christmas at their beloved Aunt Sassy’s Juniper Inn, each sister at a crossroad in their life. It’s here, in the majestic setting of Colorado at Christmastime, that new romances will blossom and old hurts healed. 🎄The setting was magical and plopped me right into the heart of Christmas, even in the dog days of summer. The sisters bond is heartwarming and this whole book just left me feeling warm, joyful, and cozy. This book is out in September, just in time to add to your holiday stacks! Though it's her first Women's Fiction book, Sara Richardson has delivered a perfect sweet and heartwarming story.

Home for the Holidays is about family and following your heart. It features sisters Dahlia, Rose, and Magnolia who reunite with their estranged aunt at her mountain inn. Each sister is at a crossroads in their life and time together is just what they need.

The story is told with each chapter being from one of the sisters' perspectives. So it was easy to connect with them as the plot unfolded. There's also a lot of holiday magic and a little romance to tie it all together.

I would love to see more from these characters in the future!

What an absolutely delightful book. This book has so much heart - it has sisterhood, family, Christmas, old flames and new ones, and getting reacquainted with yourself. I absolutely adored this book and I can definitely imagine going to Juniper Springs and having a lovely hot chocolate with an extra side of whipped cream. The characters were beautifully written and my heart broke and sang for each of them. The story was also absolutely charming. It truly is a heart warming story and definitely recommended for anyone who needs a lovely Christmas story.

Do you need a heartwarming, heartfelt book to cuddle up with? You don’t even need a fireplace to get into the spirit of this uplifting story.
Home for the Holidays is just that special kind of book that makes you want to be in the story and become a friend of the characters.
Three sisters and their aunt have lost contact with each other mostly due to being too busy. Though their mother also played a major part in this separation. Each of the main characters became special to me. Their family bonds, their friendship and their love for each other shines throughout the story.
Sara Richardson writes a beautiful happily ever after story you won’t want to miss experiencing. She is a new author to me and one I hope to read more from.
I strongly recommend you pick up this book! I know I will be picking up a few copies to share with friends.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Grand Central Publishing and author, Sara Richardson, for the opportunity to read this beautiful book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Home for the Holidays is the perfect feel-good holiday read!

This book has sisters Dahlia, Magnolia, and and Rose reuniting at their aunt's inn at Christmastime. Although the sisters have kept in touch, they're not as close as they once were. And they've become estranged from their aunt due to circumstances they don't understand between their aunt and mother.

Once at the cabin, their aunt welcomes them with open arms, and the familiarity and coziness draws each woman out. Once secrets and fears are shared, the sisters become closer than ever. They each have different struggles, but with patience, understanding, and encouragement from the other sisters and Aunt Sassy, they're able to face their circumstances.

I have a younger sister and so much of this book was relatable. It's so easy to drift apart as adults, when life gets busy with partners, jobs, and starting a new family. I love that the three sisters had the chance to reconnect as adults.

There's plenty of sweet romance in this book! There's new love, rekindled love, and a door left open for future romance. At the beginning of the novel, I was unsure where each sister's relationship was headed, and I was kept guessing until the final chapters!

The small-town, holiday backdrop was the perfect setting for the family reunions and romance! This book had plenty of Christmas moments, but it wasn't over the top. There were so many cozy scenes that had me wishing I was curled up with a warm blanket and hot cup of cocoa (and a Christmas cookie or two!).

Overall this is a delightful holiday read that I'll be recommending to everyone who needs a cozy, uplifting read in the coming months!

From my blog: Always With a Book:

This is the first book I've read by Sara Richardson and if all her books are as good as this one, it certainly won't be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday book and while I typically don't break out the holiday reads until a bit later in the year, this year has been so out of whack that I am just going with the flow and reading what calls to me and this one was just what I needed.

I love books that explore sister relationships. Having two sisters myself, I always feel such a pull to these books and I think Sara Richardson does such a good job exploring these bonds. These sisters are all at a crossroads in their lives and when they come together at Juniper Springs for Christmas, they finally reveal the secrets they have been keeping from each other. I could relate to each of these sisters in some way, but more so to Magnolia as I have been where she is and could feel her pain and frustration completely.

This book tugged at my heartstrings so many times, but it is also such a heartwarming book, too. I loved the Christmas theme and it definitely has me looking forward to the holidays, whatever they may look like this year. It may not look like years past, but we will make do with what we can and that is all that matters.

I highly recommend adding this to your reading list...whether it be now when it comes out or later in the holiday season. It's definitely a great read and one that will certainly get you in the holiday mood!

This was such a light, heartwarming holiday read. Kind of like the feeling you get when you lounge in your favourite chair, covered in a soft, cozy blanket with a mug of hot chocolate in your hand.

What I loved:
• story told from each sisters POV
• Aunt Sassy
• the love between the sisters
• Doc Ike & Colt
• how each sister thrives with their individual talents

This is a perfect example of a book to read during the holidays when you are in the need of a soft escape. I read it in one day...almost one sitting.

Home for the Holidays was my first Christmas holiday read for the year and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy all over!

The Buchanan sisters - Rose, Dahlia and Magnolia haven't been back to Juniper Inn - their aunt's inn- since they were little girls. Each has their own life now - with all of their own grown up issues. They each receive a letter from their Aunt Sassy informing them that they must spend one last Christmas at Juniper Inn together.

When the sisters arrive at the inn they realize why Aunt Sassy wanted all three sisters together one last time - she wants to gift them Juniper Inn. Do the sisters try to work it out if they want to keep the inn, or is it too much with all of them spread out so far?

I really enjoyed how the various chapters were told from the three sisters point of view. Home for the Holidays immediately made me feel warm and cozy - with all of the holiday decor descriptions and small town vibe. Rose, Magnolia and Dahlia had a lot of time for self reflection during their stay at Juniper Inn, but I also enjoyed how they also were eventually able to rely on one another. The bond of sisterhood was so important in this book and I loved that all of the sisters eventually were able to share not only their joys in life but also their lows.

If you're looking for a wonderful book that tests the bonds of sisterhood, but also has you getting into the Christmas spirit - pick up Home for the Holidays!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher.

Fans of the Hallmark Channel's Christmas movies will love this story. The story is well written and does keep you entertained. The characters are realistic to a point if a little "dreamy". It very much reads like a Hallmark feel good Christmas movie. I did enjoy it. But I enjoy those movies. I want a happily Ever after. Or at least to know good things are coming. So this book felt good to me. The author does a good job of allowing you to follow the 3 sisters and their struggles. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a feel good holiday centered story.

This book gave me all the warm & fuzzies! Such a sweet holiday story that got me right in the Christmas spirit!

I really enjoyed reading what was going on in each of the three sister’s lives, and this book is such a great reminder of how sometimes in life things happen at the exact moment it needs to, even if you didn’t know you needed it or wanted it. I loved reading the sisters reconnect with their aunt and each other, and the romances that developed just made my heart so happy! Was it a little cheesy? Sure. But honestly with Christmas books & romances I almost always go in thinking it will be some level of cheesy, and don’t care one bit! Give me all the cheer!

If you are looking for a sweet, Hallmark style Christmas book look no further! Home for the Holidays is out now!!

Looking for a sweet, festive read with elements of family drama, love, and romance? You'll find all that in Home for the Holidays by Sara Richardson. This was my first book by her, and the first in a new series, which is exciting because it means there will be more to come for these characters, all of whom I really liked. Three sisters, Dahlia, Magnolia and Rose, each at a different crossroad in their lives, head back to their Aunt Sassy's Inn for the holidays. There's lots going on in this family, and the chapters are told from each of the sisters' perspectives, which makes it easy to follow.
I really enjoyed this one especially the small town Colorado setting and all the Christmas-y vibes. 4 stars from me and a look forward to other books in the series.
