I loved this book. Had drama, love, hopes & wishes all in one package to give you an awesome read. I was totally absorbed in this book. I felt Cam and Cole’s characters. I cried, I smiled and I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Cam’s best friend Lila was an absolute hoot of a character and her little boy Gavin was the sweetest kid.
Read this book! You’ll have no regrets.

Thank you NetGalley, Backlit PR and Kimberly Daniels for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
This was the perfect summer read with the right amount of sweet, sass and steam. There were parts that I could’ve done without and at points I just wasn’t into the dialogue, but Gavin her 5yr old son sucks you in and you can’t help but root for these characters. This was a light and quick beach read!

Review

0%-27% - So I’m not feeling the connection to the twice characters. It feels way to rushed but slow at the same time. It’s a second chance sort of, so I understand that it should be a bit faster but to bring in all this past drama with Cams baby daddy and then just drop it because she wants to be with Cole seems really strange and to fast for me, considering that happens 25% into the book. I’m loving the way I am able to picture Gavin, but I just can’t get into the two main characters, I’m hoping it gets better throughout the book, but we’ll see.

27%-48% - the only thing memorable that has happened is that Todd is back and is trying to have custody of Gavin and wants to be part of Camyrns life again. Other then that I find Cam to be very whiny and I relatable. This book is starting to remind me of safe haven or sleeping with the enemy except it’s not done very well and is extremely slow burn.

48%-75% - the book is starting to get more interesting and has picked up. It’s still not super interesting in my opinion, but I am interested to see how it will end. We’ve now gotten to the point where she has left Cole (for what feels like the millionth time, but this time officially). And Todd is officially back in Gavins life. And Cams life seems to slowly be slipping into shambles.

75%-94% - this book has managed to make me fall for it in these last couple chapters. It captured a part in my heart that made me care what was happening. It is both sad and happy what happened in these chapters because even though it was a roller coaster of feelings I feel as though it all needed to be there for a conclusion to the story.

94%-100% - I was really happy with the epilogue until it got to 6 months later.. usually when there’s an epilogue you actually get to see the “ending” of the story, here is was just left wanting more.

All in all I think this was a good story, but I still think it could have done with a bit more work to it. Added some more information into it.

This is a nice reading. However, it contains more angst than what I normally tolerate. Both characters, Cole and Camryn carry a great baggage and it is, sometimes, very difficult for them (especially for her) to overcome.

Therefore, there were some parts that I could have done without because I didn’t feel the necessity to add more drama to the poor characters. Moreover, when you feel anxious about what could happen you tend to devour the pages of the book eagerly, but in this case there were moments where I read and read and did not find comfort in what I was reading.

Apart from that, which is really a matter of likings, the story has great characters. Gavin, Camryn’s son, is so funny and amazing, and Lila, her best friend, is incredible (at least she tried to put some sense on Camryn’s head!) I also loved very much Cole’s character, even with his flaws, because he really seems a good guy that is really into Camryn and her son. Milena, Camryn’s mom, is another memorable character (it reminded me of PS I love you, because of the letters she left for her daughter)

In all, it is a good book and you will enjoy it a lot if you are a reader that loves angsty stories!

Loved It!! Sat on my TBR pile for far too long. Cute, Beach, Summer Romance with some twists and turns and guidance along the way. I loved all the characters, especially the Sassy ones.
