Greg Tucker was badly burned in his last serious relationship and isn't looking for another. But Ginger fascinates him. She's not in the same category of deceitful female as others in his past. This is the first book in the series and the first I have read from this author. I was pleasantly surprised by how well I liked the book. It was easy to read, interesting, and kept my attention. The characters were developed and so easy to connect with. The two main characters had both been hurt in the past and were not looking for a serious relationship, but fate had other plans.
Ginger Carmichael had moved to San Antonio to get away from the painful memories of the man she fell in love with who had lied and was already married. She is determined to remodel the house her parents left her when they passed. Ginger is tired of always falling for the bad guys, so she has made a list of requirements she has for any future men in her life. The top one is no coworkers, but her interest in one of her bosses tests her resolution.
Greg Tucker had no interest in serious relationships after his past fiancée, but Ginger intrigues him. She is nothing like any of the other females he has met. She is straight forward and independent. She is capable of remodeling her own house, but he enjoys helping her. Can they overcome their reservations of committing to a serious relationship?
This was a charming book to read and I loved the witty banter between the characters. The book had it all; romance, intrigue, humor, and strong friendships. I hope the author has plans for the other Tucker men because they need their own HEA also!
