Description

Who killed FBI Special Agent Larry Grimes? What sort of clues might be in Grimes’s massive collection of physical evidence, files, jottings and exotic memorabilia? Boris Jacobson was determined to find out.

From Grimes’s notes, he learned ten things about people and cars.

Number 1. When Jim Tuck attempted to seduce Barbra Barber with the gift of a red Corvette, it was the two things Jim didn’t know about the car that changed their lives.

Number 2. The day that Barbra Barber told Jim Tuck where to stick his Corvette, Jim Tuck was visited by two Mexican men who were interested in taking the Corvette for a test drive.

They were never seen again.

Number 3. Dennis T Choprade had an unhealthy fascination with euthanasia and corpses.

Number 4. Although it seemed like a coincidence that Billy Barber was living on the same property as the shed containing the corpses of 157 euthanised old folks, Jacobson hated coincidences and was not yet prepared to accept that one.

Number 5. Brandon Moore’s death was almost as big a mystery as JFK’s, and for similar reasons. There were many potential suspects, the most obvious being Brandon’s own brother.

Plus five more things.

It was a start, but not a great one. Jacobson wasn’t even sure if it was in the right direction.

He felt a gnawing in his belly, a hankering to take a good look at Grimes’s “Things About People and Food”. And to discuss his findings with the sensual Mrs Grimes. Perhaps over dinner.

" Readers' Favorite ★★★★★ Five Stars

Ten Things About People and Cars sets out ten of the vital connections FBI Agent Jacobson susses out as a result of his investigation, each one, in this case, concerning cars.

The connections between each story are sly, thought-provoking and often quite funny, and each story is told in a smooth and conversational style. I'm looking forward to the next installment of Agent Jacobson's connections.

Ten Things About People and Cars: Part One of 52 Things, a Novel is most highly recommended.
