The laugh-out-loud romcom of the year! Perfect for fans of Mhairi McFarlane, Beth O’Leary and Jasmine Guillory.

Young lawyer Alexa Humphries’s one true love is her precious duvet, yet she is torn from its comforting embrace every morning while the foxes are still scavenging the bins outside and doesn’t get back until long after most normal people are already asleep. Worn down by the endless demands of her suspicious boss and her competitive, high-flying housemate and fellow lawyer, Zara, Alexa barely recognises herself anymore. This wasn’t how life was supposed to be.

But today is different. Today, Alexa just cannot get out of bed to face the world. Everyone deserves a duvet day, don’t they?

Fun read! It was a quick breezy one that I read under my own fluffy duvet in unicorn jam jams, not a onesie sadly. If you like romcom reads or chick lit pick it up.

I need a duvet day and so will other readers. A cute book about being in over your head and all the times you need a rest. I absolutely love the main character. I highly recommend this one.

I've discovered a new favourite romcom author - hurray!!! This book absolutely delighted me from start to finish. Light hearted (and yet full of heart!), hilarious, uplifting and sweet... and very very cringe-stressful (in the funniest sense) in moments!! I did find I skipped through a little of it waiting for a little bit more of the romance side of things... and would have loved there to be more of a 'climactic moment' (not in THAT way, exactly) when they finally got together - having said that, perhaps it's just not that kind of book, the focus being on other things, and that's okay. Everything else I absolutely loved - the writing style, the humour (I had a couple of laugh out loud moments!), the chemistry between the two main characters ...I absolutely fell in love with the characters, particularly Alexa herself. The way this is written makes me think that the author must just be the loveliest, warmest, funniest and kindest human! I cannot wait to read more from Emily Kerr! Highly recommended.

Thank you to the publisher and Emily Kerr for an advanced copy of this lovely novel.

What a fun read! I enjoyed this book so much-it kept me so engaged that I read it in one day. With all the hard things that are going on in our world right now, it was lovely to escape for a while.

This book gives me so much second hand embarrassment that I had to walk away from this book several times. However, if you thrive on schadenfreude then I think you can get through this book a lot quicker than I did. Despite the pain it gave me I did love it and spent many a duvet days of my own reading through it.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for this advanced copy which I received in return for an honest review.

A lovely read about how work can take over every hour of everyday and you feel like your life is a huge weight on your shoulders.. However this one morning, Alexia’s body just doesn’t want to move so she decides to pull a sick day. But she certainly doesn’t expect her day to have sooo much drama. But Alexia realises that life is for living, a wonderful romcom.

This is a delightfully funny book that had me giggling out loud numerous times. It is refreshing and uplifting to read. If you are looking for a lighthearted book than this is definitely the one for you.

The main character, Alexa, is wonderfully developed and easily loveable. The author has created an amazing character that is so relatable that I’m sure all of you could find a part of her in you. The storyline is quick moving with the whole book taking place in one day.

I can’t thank NetGalley and Harper Collins UK enough for allowing me to read the ARC of this book. It is the best all round and heartwarming book I have read in a long time. It was nice to laugh out loud and to enjoy a day in the life of this hard working, stressed out, unlucky and somewhat klutzy woman.

Review of Duvet Day by Emily Kerr

This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. A laugh out loud feel good romantic comedy that you can't go wrong with. Young lawer Alexa loves her bed, and one day has had enough and decided to give herself a well earned duvet. A funny enjoyable book, five stars

Alexa, a junior lawyer in a prestigious London law firm, decides to have a duvet day. Unfortunately things don't turn out well as she becomes locked out of her flat wearing a unicorn onesie. Cue a day of mayhem, rather than her hoped for rest, chasing after a news photographer who snapped pictures of her in a highly embarrassing situation.
This started off reminding me of one of those old Whitehall farces with a series of unbelievable, but very funny events. As the story developed it became much deeper than that as we begin to find out more about Alexa and the strain that she is under in her job and her dreams of where she would like her career to progress towards. She goes through both highs and lows with Sam, the photographer, with a series of calamities, mixed with successes. The lows for me added to the story, broadening it from a comedy to a much deeper, whilst still funny, book. Definitely a recommended read by this new to me author.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book and I have already pre-ordered it as I enjoyed it so much.

A rollercoaster of a romance! With hints of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Legally Blonde and Working Girl, Kerr takes you on a riotous tour of London and self-discovery. I could totally see this as a film of its own. Cracking fun that’ll have you bracing, holding your breath and whooping.

Who doesn't love a duvet day? It's the perfect place to curl up with a good book 🛌

I read this over several days as I got distracted by my last read. I loved this book, it was so, so funny. This would be the perfect romcom to make into a film. I loved the comedic relationship between Alexa & Sam.

Alexa has decided she's pulling a sickie from work, but thanks to a parcel courier she finds herself locked out of the house wearing her unicorn onesie & not a lot else! What ensues is a hilarious, madcap goose chase across London trying to persuade her house mate Sam to hand over his keys.

Many thanks to Netgalley for my ARC in return for my honest review.

Hilarious!! What starts out being a sneaky "duvet day" from work turns out to be an unfortunate series of events!.Alexa unwittingly locks herself out of her flat...and in an attempt to get the keys from one of her flatmates...the gorgeous Sam-things spinal out of control!
An easy read... sometimes a little unbelievable but nevertheless I really enjoyed this book. Ideal holiday read.

We all need a duvet day now again to recharge our batteries and be ready to face the world again. When you think of a duvet day you think of a relaxing day, maybe a bubble bath, watching some films, reading a good book, having your favourite snacks, catching up on sleep ... Well young lawyer Alexa Humphries was feeling so burnt out from work that she needed a day to herself to help her recover physically and mentally. Her duvet day was the complete opposite to what you expect! She spent the day in her Unicorn onesie after being locked out of her flat. Alexa's day was completely filled with the unexpected beyond belief! But everything she went through, the people she met, the people she helped during her day, showed Alexa her true self, the wonderful caring and kind lady that she has always been. Alexa's work has always been very important to her but it had got to a stage where she needed to regroup, take a step back and see what life was really about and what and who she was missing out on - and in one day Alexa achieved this! An absolutely hilarious read! So funny, I was in stitches. Alexa's day was so out of the ordinary but you could imagine how it could have happened in real life. I loved Duvet Day, a superb read that will take you on one hilarious uplifting and romantic journey about self-discovery, being happy and achieving your dreams. Such a magical read!

Throwing a sickie to stay and snuggle up in bed and binge-watch a series or two… well, that's the plan…

Stressed Alexa Humphries decides to have a cosy day in bed with her beloved duvet; overworked, exhausted and unappreciated she wants a day free from her corporate job as a young lawyer. However, her plans quickly turn on its head as she embarks on an unexpected day to remember.

With a short timeline, the author packs much into the storyline yet it's not overwhelming. Alexa is both likeable and relatable as she muddles her way around London. There's hardly a dull moment with this plot twisty novel...and after diving into this blind, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. So, as the narrative unfolds, I enjoyed each surprise and development as Alexa's day progresses. Professional rivalry, romance and deceit are present during the day-long drama but, along with plenty of laughs, it all ends with a happy and satisfying ending.

To sum up; this novel is so much fun and a perfect distraction on a rainy day!

4.5 stars

A crazy read following Alexa who decides to take a much needed duvet day. A day in a onesie under favorite duvet doesn't quite go to plan. A delivery leads to getting locked out of her house. You quickly become invested in the story line and then can't wait to find out what happens next.
