Description

In this sweet and moving picture book, debut author-illustrator Sandra Salsbury explores friendship, compassion, loss, and the transformative power of connection.

Roland lives a quiet life filled with art, music, and tea parties for one. It's a nice life, but sometimes he feels rather lonely. And then one day, Roland finds the perfect companion.

Milton may just be a pine cone, but they have so much in common. Milton also happens to enjoy drawing, listening to music, and drinking tea. And he's also alone.

But there are signs in the woods suggesting that someone else might be missing their best pine cone friend. Suddenly, Roland doesn't know if he truly cured his loneliness or if he just passed it on to someone else.

At first, only the family is enough, but as children grow up and get to know the world around them, so they start to more and more children and people and start building different relationships. This process is very important for the proper emotional development of children. Making friends, spending time with children of the same age is crucial to developing an emotionally stable personality.

But this process is not always easy and simple. My three-year-old son still does not properly understand even the very notion of friend and friendship. That is why I think that with the right choice of children's book, tailored to the needs of children, we can help our children more easily cope and understand this segment of life.
‘Best Friend in the Whole World’ by Sandra Salsbury is a very sweet and interesting story, which through simple language structures explains the whole concept of friendship in a very simple way. What does it mean to have a friend, what can we do with our friends, should we have only one friend ... are just some of the interesting contents of this endearing picture book. Although in the book you will learn about all this, you can use all the offered situations to talk to your child, to encourage the child to think and express their own opinions and ideas. For example, after reading about the activities of Ronald and Popkin / Milton, my little one said that he and his best friend (who he has yet to find) can drink beer together, as his daddy does with his friends.

Definitely a great choice for all families with children. The beautiful and sweet illustrations are enough to attract and keep the children's attention until the very end, believe me that the kids will not get bored even after a few readings. And the style in which the story is written is completely adapted for the children to be able to understand the story without any problem.
