Description

When one door opens, another closes.

Seraphina grew up listening to the stories she’d heard of the Brethren, who had saved the world from the faerie magic that had almost ripped the land apart a thousand years ago. These were just myths and stories told to children, though, or so she thought. The stories become true when her own magic starts to backfire on her, revealing that she is one of the Brethren’s descendants.

Her newfound abilities draw the attention of Casmyn, a fae that swears he’s desperately been searching for someone like her. The pact keeping the world safe has been broken by the fae lord Nilas, and only Seraphina can open the path to the Land of Faerie and stop Nilas from succeeding.

Yet to open the path to the Land of Faerie means no one will be able to return to the Land ever again, and though the fate of two lands rests on her shoulders, she can’t help herself from thinking about Casmyn’s infuriating best friend Shevard.

Beautifully written with an air of magic, adventure, and charm, this book checks all the boxes for those looking for a book that will help them escape to a new world. The characterization, imagery, and writing style in this book are simply stunning, and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to read it.

I absolutely loved this book. The characters were multifaceted and had wonderful character development. If you love YA fantasy and are looking for something more adult you will find it here. Tallie's world building was just spot on for me with just the right amount of detail to build the world as I read. The plot kept me guessing and was woven beautifully. I enjoyed the romance in the book with a little bit of passion sprinkled in to hear things up.

Sera must be one of my favorite characters. She's fiery and has a temper but is also funny and has a great sense of humor. You really feel like you're riding the emotions with her which is a testament to the writing from Tallie.

Must importantly the ending was AMAZING and I also REALLY need to know what happened next! Cannot wait and everyone needs to read this book! It's a must have/read! I don't want to include spoilers but the end is incredible. I hope to read many more books from this author!

***Thank you to Netgalley and GenZ for the chance to read the ARC for my honest opinion**
