Description

"Not another Election!"

The Prime Minister of Britain has called yet another General Election in the middle of 2017, less than two years since the last one.

Mickey is summoned into action to defend candidates and preserve democracy, but where is his usual team? Where are his trusted colleagues? Why has Melia disappeared? Caulfield been transferred? Why is Liv been sent to a Mental Hospital? And who is 'Gulf', and why is he plotting against the Corsch Corporation?

All that, all of it, can't have anything to do with votes, surely! After all, Mickey's boss, Captain Gibson, doesn't seem to be worried about any of those things.

He feels more threatened by the British Army and their plans for a coup to replace the government – without a popular vote! It's all adding up to a nightmare, and only Mickey is far outside the madhouse to get a grip and save the situation. As ever.

PLEASE NOTE: Author Mike Scantlebury has joined The Reviews Rebellion. That means he’s now a Reviews Refuser and has signed up for The Pledge that says, as a modern author, he isn’t going to solicit, ask for, beg or pay for reviews.

Why? Because modern authors find reviews self-serving, self-regarding, often misleading and generally degrading to author and reader alike. The Reviews Refusers don’t want them. They’re not asking for them and don’t expect them. Just skip awarding stars and leave the Comments section pristine, blank, white.

Don’t get such a revolution wrong: nobody is saying that you can’t have an opinion. You like this book? You don’t like it? That’s completely up to you. But really - do you really need to share your conclusion? Worse, you want people to agree with you?

That’s where Reviewers go wrong. They assume that their opinion matches other people in the world. They don’t like? Other people won’t like either. They love? You will too. Get that?

You WILL too. You must agree with them, believe what they believe, eat the same flavour ice-cream they like and support the same football team. ENOUGH! It’s time to let the wonderfully diverse world of readers off the hook.

They’re not fish on a line, to be reeled in, not any more. Please - make up your own minds about the books you read and the ones you like.

Stop being intimidated by the views of the Reviewotariat.

Call it a day. Leave well alone.

First of all I want to mention that I really like the book and the title as well! The story caught me immediately. It was a good mix of tension, story telling and dialogues. It also was written very fluently and it read easily.

I gave this book a 5 star rating and I want to recommend Senctioned to people who love to read crime thrillers and police series.
