Description

A young boy has a pumpkin seed. A very small pumpkin seed. A very small but special pumpkin seed. And what will become of this very small but special seed? He’ll only find out if he lets it grow…and grow…and grow! Because sometimes the smallest things can lead to the biggest adventures!

Mary Ann Fraser has written and illustrated more than seventy books for young readers and has been awarded Junior Library Guild Selections, SLJ Best Book of the Year, Book Links Book of the Year, IRA Young Readers Choice Award, and American Booksellers “Pick of the List.” When she is not writing or painting, Mary Ann is most likely digging in the garden, hiking the trails of Idaho, or playing her hammered dulcimer.

Riley Samels is an illustrator born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Since graduating with a degree in illustration and design, he has been using his work to showcase and uplift minority communities at every opportunity. When he’s not scribbling down a new idea for an illustration or watching reruns of the same show for the hundredth time, he is probably tending to his ever-increasing collection of plants. Riley hopes he can continue to normalize diversity and grow with his work.
