Description

In Cazadora, Romina Garber weaves together Argentine folklore and what it means to be illegal in a timely, intimate, and emotionally powerful narrative.

Werewolves. Witches. Romance. Resistance.

Enter a world straight out of Argentine folklore...

Following the events of Lobizona, Manu and her friends cross the mystical border into Kerana—a cursed realm in Argentina—searching for allies and a hiding place. As they chase down leads about the Coven—a mythical resistance manada that might not even exist—the Cazadores chase down leads about Manu, setting up traps to capture and arrest her.

Just as it seems the Cazadores have Manu and her friends cornered, the Coven answers their call for help. As Manu catches her breath among these non-conforming Septimus, she discovers they need a revolution as much as she does.

But is she the right one to lead them? After all, hybrids aren’t just outlawed. They’re feared and reviled. What happens when the Coven learns of Manu’s dual heritage? Will they still protect her? Or will they betray her?

And after running this far, for this long—how much farther can Manu go before her feet get tired, and she stops to take a stand?

In Cazadora, Romina Garber weaves together Argentine folklore and what it means to be illegal in a timely, intimate, and emotionally powerful narrative.

What a brilliant follow-up to Lobizona! This was one of my favorite reads of 2020 (and I read it in December), and my expectations were set high. I loved how Garber brought in more widespread political turmoil, and expanded the world even more by introducing the Coven. I loved the new characters and Manu getting to understand herself.

It will be absolute torture waiting for the next book in this series. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire second half and was in total shock over the ending. I don’t think anyone could see that ending coming. I haven’t felt this attached to a fantasy series since reading Harry Potter as a child. The symbolism throughout the book in regards to the United States immigration crisis is powerful and is what drew me to this series in the first place. I love all of the characters and can’t wait to see how Manu will continue to change her fate.

Cazadora picks up right where Lobizona finished. After loving Lobizona, I was not surprised to love Cazadora as well!

The story follows Manu and her friends as she tries to navigate what it means to be Septima, human, and herself. She is a beautifully written heroine who struggles with her identity and the challenge of how to be different in a world that isn't ready to play by different rules yet. She is relatable and easy to empathize with and is an absolute pleasure to follow her on her magical journey.

The book is action packed and expanses on the already fascinating universe created in Lobizona. I hope hope hope there will be more books so that we can continue with these characters, I'm not ready to leave them yet!

Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for the ARC.

Garber's follow-up to "Lobizona" is even better than the first. By this time, I'm familiar enough with the terms that they are part of my vocabulary and don't seem as foreign to me. I was transported to a world where reality lives side-by-side with werewolves and witches. While this series has lots of action and romance, it also deals with hard hitting social issues that are directly from our real world headlines including, but not limited to immigration, identity, gender, sexuality, and wealth.

Of COURSE Cazadora was going to be an amazing read! Lobizona was good, but this one was even better! Excellent pacing and plot. As always Romina gave us what we wanted and more!

This book was the perfect follow-up to Lobizona. We were able to explore more of the world and meet new characters, all while on the run from the cazadores. This book had STAKES!

But moreover it had action, romance, social commentary, just basically everything you want in a book. Will there be a book 3? I don't know. But the ending left me frantically DMing Romina on instagram, so there's that.

*Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for an ARC in exchange for my honest review*

I am... obsessed with this book! I didn't know how Romina was going to be able to top Lobizona, but Cazadora is a perfect pair. I would very much love the series to continue, I feel so invested in these characters and the stunning world that has been created.

This book was an insane ride, and i enjoyed every second of it. The lush and creative world with Argentine inspiration is layered and interesting. I love our main protagonists, and all the side characters as well. The topics addressed, including but not limited to, gender roles, lgbtq+, immigration and overall themes of fighting for what’s right were weaved into the story perfectly. This was a great sequel.

I have so few words for CAZADORA. IT... IS... AMAZING! I've been waiting for the Romina's sequel to the amazing LOBIZONA. Manu is back! Of course, they with their friends, are still fighting for a better future. Such great character development. The characterizations were amazingly done. The plot kept me on my toes. Fantastic job. I highly recommend this one.

Cazadora by Romina Garber is an excellent novel that has it all: fiction, magic, complex narrative, wonderfully developed characters including a fabulous and larger then life main female character, and a narrative that kept me captivated. This is the follow up book to 2020’s Lobizona and is the second book in the Wolves of No World Series.

I really enjoyed this book’s predecessor and to fully appreciate the character development and plot continuation, one really needs to read the prior book first.

I loved the continuity of the characters, their goals, the overall narrative and goals that continue with this second installment. To see Manu change, mature, and grow within the book compared to the previous, is very rewarding. She is really coming into her own and becoming more confident. She is such a complex, intricate, and fascinating character that I cannot help but like.

I enjoyed the author’s ability to intertwine a rich tapestry of folklore, magical, and otherwordly realm with real, current-day, and earthly societal and cultural concepts and problems. The ability to create an ethereal but yet sobering and heavy world is impressive and is a work of art.

I really hope this series continues so the heroine can find everything that she deserves.

5/5 stars

Cazadora is a fantastic YA book that is the follow-up to Lobizona. I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is perfect, the characters are gorgeously written, and the story is intriguing. Once again the author has written a top YA book of the year. Romina Garber is hugely talented and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.

I got this as an eARC from NetGalley and didn’t realize it was a second book I just fell in love with the cover 😅 but then I binged the first book and fell in love with Manu and her story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This one picks up where the first ends and let me tell you this one blew me away, the first one is about getting to know Manu just as she gets to find herself as well.

And now we see Manu slowly accepting who she is and going on this amazing character journey, as well as al of her friends she does meet some new ones and they all just have amazing character arcs, they are just written so beautifully.

Romina has created such a beautiful world around Argentina folklore are culture, I’m just blown away by these books. I really hope you guys add both books to your tbr and read them both.

I am currently dying over the ending of this book and I can’t wait to have people to scream about it with.

I absolutely loved this book. The characters are just as marvelous and lovable as they were in Lobizona, and they continue to develop in relatable ways (even though they are magical and/or can turn into giant wolves). The world building just gets more fascinating as the story continues. These books are unlike anything I have ever read. In a sea of similar YA Fantasy, Romina Garber stands out. I cannot wait to read the next installment!!

Another amazing book! I throughly enjoyed book 1 and was so excited NetGalley sent me an eARC of Garber’s second book in this series. It’s powerful, entertaining, and beautifully written. I continued to stay captured every time I opened the book and struggled to get real life responsibilities done before the book was completed.

This series addresses so many important topics our world is struggling with and reminds us our country has so far to go still.
