Description

A CALL TO ARMS FOR EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES IN AMERICA’S FUTURE

The media has been fairly firm about the state of American manufacturing: We’ve lost our edge. We’ve handed over millions of jobs and our legacy as a manufacturing giant to the BRIC countries. Even our American flags are made somewhere else. We’re in the last days of American greatness and to the world have transformed to a “service industry nation.”

ENTREPRENEURIAL NATION: Why Manufacturing is Still Key to America’s Future argues that the United States is stronger in the manufacturing sector than it has ever been, and with some creative policies and private sector initiatives, we will continue our global lead. Author Ro Khanna offers a frank assessment of major challenges and recommendations of policy decisions on innovation and entrepreneurship (key issues during the Presidential race) that can effectively defend our manufacturing base.

About the Author:

As President Obama’s Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Ro Khanna spent two years as a key player in the manufacturing debate, working alongside the country's most influential and elite business and labor leaders and listening to the smartest minds in the sector. Assigned to strengthen US domestic manufacturing, Khanna has had the inside view of every facet of American manufacturing. He managed 108 domestic Commerce offices that help companies import and export; during his tenure, exports grew by 17%.
