This is the final book in the Author's Aelf Fen series and whilst it can be read as a standalone some background in previous events would benefit the reader
Lassair is finally returning home after years in Spain , hoping to reunite with her mentor Gurdyman and love , lawman Jack- is he still waiting for her ,?
But she first has the task of collecting the chest left to her by dead , former King's spy , Rollo Guiscard ,,,,,,,,, a chest that contains not just gold but secrets !
Murder soon follows Lassair's steps , will more follow ? ......... are the chest's secrets so dangerous or has her past in Spain followed her home ? who can she trust ? will she survive ? will her dreams and gift of healing and sight aid her ?
This book brings together all the strands from the previous books to a satisfactory conclusion - I enjoyed the mystical elements within these books which gave them a more paranormal twist than usual in historical murder mysteries
